Omaha nurtured the CWS and built it into an event that becomes THE draw of the summer. I am thrilled that history will continue for my hometown. I doubt another community would support it the way Omaha does. The fans tend to adopt the teams that come in and appreciate high-level play regardless of the schools on the field.
As for the stadium, that's a sign of the event's growth. It's now big enough that other communities would bid to host it with bigger revenue streams based on stadium naming rights, luxury suites, etc. unless Omaha stepped up. The city did and the NCAA respected that with revenue paybacks that will more than cover the debt on the new stadium. This is a stadium deal that works for the community.
Great job NCAA for keeping baseball on The Road to Omaha!
