Give me a break, Obama was doing this to capture attention. Yes we do need a republican to run for president. It is a joke to have a president that wants to pull the troops because it would create a terrorist state in Iraq. That is a slap in the face to the troops that died. I wish this wasn't the end of Bush's second term because we could use him for another four years or more.

I will say this about this thread: There are definitely some intelligent people on these boards and some responses have been absolutely stimulating. Let me clarify a few things. First, the President doesn't have nearly as much power as we think. The top 5% of rich people who were referred to earlier actually run the world and they are not all Americans. We have a long way to go to understand what pure politics and propaganda are. Some of you should listen to yourselves. You speak with anger one moment like you are ready to hurt someone for their opinion and result to childish name calling and insults; then on the other hand, reveal cowardness in talking about terrorist. I am sorry but I am not afraid of a paper terrorist. I have lived for a very long time and I am more afraid of our governent and it's current condition than any foreign terrorist. We live in the 21st Century and just listen to the ignornace that is spewed on some sites. Listen to the radio announcers and all. This country is as divided as night and day, yet we pretend on paper like every evil comes from abroad.
Think about it this way- Under Clinton this country was thriving. Regardless of what you think about the scandal he lead this country like no other President in a very long time. As soon as Bush takes office, look what happens, 9-11. Not even a year into his term, we have major issue. Verdict is still out on who to blame and it is amazing that Bin Laden is still alive who was "supposedly" responsible but Hussein, who had no links is dead. However, Iraq is the country we had interest in under the elder Bush. If you guys understood have many innocent people died under shock and awe it would make you all insurrectionist without question. I know a lot about our military strategies and when we drop 2000 bombs in two minutes to "light the sky" there is a massacre insuing. Imagine that during Desert Shield/Storm, most of our deaths came via friendly fire. That means we hit our own targets with misinformation. Now imagine how many people died under 2000 bombs. I was more shocked with the words the President used. In my mind I was thinking Presidents do not talk like that. Civilians, babies, women, fathers, brothers, grandparents and sisters. If you could see the bodies, it would literally make you sick to your stomach. I bet if we could use a satellite dish to show radar of bones in the ground you would simply be numb. To kill the sensationalism of how many we lost, our government quickly shut down pics of caskets draped with the American flags coming back to America from being published everywhere. Talk about propoganda. Do you think America wants the world to think we are mercernaries? It doesn't matter how you try to defend it, we have killed thousands and lost thousands in a war without cause, without justification and on the premise of misinformation. That is a sad reality but it is true. It is almost like we are discovering Iraq like we discovered the new world. Killed all the indians or enslaved them and removed them from the history books. We have killed all the leaders of Iraq and removed them from the history books. Every statue of Hussein has been destroyed, ala, how the noses of the statues in Africa(Eygpt) have been multilated.
What this country needs is a serious Change in direction, in philosophy and in the welfare of its citizens. No more exploitation of innocent civilians for economic gain. No more degradation of those without healthcare. More concern for those losing homes, jobs, businesses and sanity. Our school system is a shame as many need valuable resources. We spend tillions on lost cause wars while pinching pennies to tomorrows leaders(our children). Our educational budget is like a joke compared to our defense budget. Our children are a real entity who needs the funds but our terrorist appear to be built up on propaganda and hearsay. The only thing to fear in life is fear itself. Look at the condition of this country and other countries around the world we have destroyed on the basis of fear.
Obama has already shown courage by running for office in a racist country. Whether you agree to it or not, America is a racist country and if you are not rich you are less than the best. It not even about being European American(white) or African American(black), it is about the haves and have nots. An hour-glass affect with the bottom widening as we speak. Remember 68% of the poor in America are European American so do not be fooled in voting for color that is the biggest deception in America today, that if you are white , you are rich and all minorities are poor. As a country we are so ignorant and I mean that. I am not a racist, I am not pro anything except being a Christian and I am a republican but there is a sad reality in this country. We are lost, confused and discombobulated. I will not vote for McCain becuase he doesn't represent the true values this country needs.
If you do not vote for Obama, remember you were warned ahead of time. Many wanted Bush in office, now look at the results. I mean really look at the results. Let go of ignorance and allow some intelligence lead you to the best candidate possible. Hillary has shown her true colors and McCain will lead us into worse territiry than Bush. The election is upon us and many can cast an early vote. Let's do the right thing so we can embrace what this great country is truly about. Land of the free and home of the Brave. Last time I checked Brave is not afraid of terrorist. Brave is not ignorance to act without cause. When it is time Brave acts with purpose, courage and valor in the best interest of all invloved.
Good day folks.

A. read George Pirro's interrogation of Saddam Hussein. If you read that he states that Saddam wanted us to think that he had weapons to keep Iran from invading Iraq again which makes him just as guilty as if he had them. Then he also states that Saddam was planning to bring them back someday so Saddam was always going to be a thorn in our side and he was worth getting rid of.
B. The economy thrived underneath Bill Clinton because of the internet not because of Bill's policies. Also the economy grew by .6 percent in the first quarter so the economy isn't that bad off, the only bad parts are that people bought houses and banks let them buy houses that could not be paid off so the economy is naturally going to sag.
C. We are still chasing Bin Ladin, the only reason we caught Hussein is because we found someone who ratted him out. Other than that Hussein would still be on the loose.
D. Remember Bill Clinton laid off half of our military so he is a joke. Don't forget that he had Bin Ladin in his cross hairs and didn't pull the trigger.
E. Remember if Barack wins he will not pull out, it would take us 4 years at least to pull out at least. We have a base in there. Quit rolling on emotions and come back to reality.
F. George Bush was the right candidate, when he had evidence he acted on it. He chased Bin Ladin as soon as he could, he went into Iraq as soon as he could. He even asked the U.N. for permission but they are truly useless.

I forgot to mention this.
G. Race isn't the issue, the issue is that Obama is liberal so bury that race card under the bus.
H. Don't you think the Welfare system is killing our economy more than the war. We are paying for something that is not getting returns.

gas prices have tripled since Bush took over. You dont think our foreign policy has anything to do with that???? F*** Bush! he has the worst approval rating since Nixon for a reason! Probably because our economy is awful, we are stuck in a completely useless and unending war, we have alienated ourselves from many of our allies and the entire world hates us because we try to police it, gas prices are through the roof causing a dramatic increase of many things that americans purchase every day, the US dollar isnt worth the piece of paper its printed on, we have outsourced all of our jobs, there are 20 million illegal aliens living in our country not paying taxes yet recieving benefits from the government and we dont have a decent plan to stop it, we havent caught Bin Laden,. Another thing, whose fault do you think it is now that pulling out of Iraq will create a terrorist state??? Its Bush's. Before we went into Iraq there was little terrorist activity... funny how we called it "the war on terror" to get Americans to back it and now the terrorist threat is even greater because the entire country is in complete upheaval. Do you think for a second that we are going to change the minds of the people who hate us and create some sort of peaceful environment in Iraq????? No!!! You have to be a f***ing moron to believe that! These people have been the same way for thousands of years and some idiot like Bush isnt going to change that. Congratulations on catching Saddam Hussein.... worst move ever.... now we have even more problems.

the Phog give me a break. I am using the worst approval rating against you. I would rather have my president hated than Bill Clinton who had the highest rating even though he was impeached. Bush ran a clean program. Prove it otherwise. Read George Pirro's interrogation. really you need to. tHe Phog, I have a hundred dollars saying you don't have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, so I am sure I am smarter than you.

Political balance is important in America. One thing that makes our country great is that a variety of views are acceptable. Personally, I refuse to categorize myself as a Democrat or a Republican. I find that to be extremely limiting.
As for Obama shooting some hoops, good for him. He's been playing pickup ball for years. Just because he wants to lead the free world, does that mean he has to give that up? No.
I might be naive in making this statement, but I actually do believe Obama to be an earnest individual. Our collective national cynicism has created a sense that we not only can't but SHOULDN'T trust our politicians. While I realize it's risky, I plan to trust Obama at his word.
Why? Consider this closing thought... Just because your last 3 girlfriends cheated on you, doesn't mean that all girls cheat.

iceman, Clinton was not impeached... not sure where that came from. I would much rather have a president that scores a$$ than one that is an a$$. Please just answer this one question: do you enjoy paying $3.50 per gallon? By the way, i am not a democrat nor am i a republican. If you havent already figured it out, both parties are completely controlled by lobbyists for big business (who want those borders to stay open). You dont have to be a democrat to know Bush is the worst president ever, just a human being with a fully functional brain without the "f n a brother, lets go kill those towlheads" mentality. Hey, vote McCain and enjoy World War III when it happens. By the way, i also have a masters in Business Marketing and I am a commercial real estate investment broker in Kansas City.... smart guy.

iceman you are a bit misinformed, Clinton was not impeached. Bush has not run a clean program. How can you justify the deaths of so many because of the actions of Bush. The United Nations voted against the war due to lack of substantial evidence. Bush argued for and went outside the recommendation. Iceman I have a hundred dollars you do not have a degree at all. To say you would rather have your President hated is pure nonsense.
As far as my use of the term "ignorant," it had nothing to do with us as individually by collectively as a country. We believe almost anything and everything we hear from media sources. Everything you are talking about is second hand regurgitation. No offense as I do not know you but your support of Bush is really amazing to say the least. You claim to have a degree in mathematics, you might want to explore history, politics and psychology.
The love of money is an insatiable desire. It brings superficial happiness and is sought after by scrupulous and deceiving minds.
What are my sources? Ex Sailor/Marine, College graduate, War Veteran and Seminary student, now get at that. Not to mention a Medical and Dental background.
For those who really want to know what Obama will do:
* End this debacle in Iraq and bring closure
* Provide every American with health coverage and lower the cost
* Reform student loan programs and provide $4,000 refundable tax credit for the cost of college to help those trying to better themselves
* Make long term investments in training and workshop development so that Americans can leverage our strengths, our ingenuity and entreprenuerialism to create new high-wage jobs and prosper in world economy
* End our dependence on Middle East oil
* Take on the special interests and lobbyists and put our government back in the hands of the people
Barack Obama was the first AA elected President of the Harvard Law Review. He is an incredibly intelligent man. I mean extremely intelligent.

Clinton was impeached, he was the second ever but he was not thrown out of office. The people are not dying because of Bush's actions, they are dying because of the insurgency that Saddam created/ Bin Ladin. Please read George Pirro's statements look it up on yahoo. Saddam killed Saddam, he didn't let U.N. inspectors into the country, he had fair warning for around a year. Everyone thought that Saddam had weapons, Bush had the guts to sign off on the war.
Don't Forget that Bin Ladin's terrorist group is currently involved in the Iraq conflict.
Name me one violation that Bush committed with a little evidence.
Obama is smart, he is smart enough to put out ideals for the country. But thats what they are, ideals. There is no substance to him. I call him the Professor, and that is a slur.
I would rather operate on myself than have universal health care. They call it free health care and I call it expensive health care. It would water down our health care system if it was cheaper. If you live in Canada and can afford American health care you come this way because we have better specialists.
Do you realize how much higher our taxes would become for crappier health care?
If you listened to Huckabee or most true Republicans they would give the businesses tax breaks to give health care to their employees.
Note our economy has grown .6 in the last quarter.
I know that my support of Bush may astound you but I am well read. I asked for some evidence of crimes that Bush committed rather than accusations.

Well, WSU, you just proved YOUR ignorance of the United States Consitution. Apparently, you have never studied Constitutional history or taken Constitutional law, which I have. Militants have long pointed to the 3/5ths compromise as indicating the Founding Fathers considered AAs 3/5ths of a person. So, cling to that misunderstanding!
BTW, all four of my Grandparents were born in Sicily and (legally) immigrated to the United States in the early 2oth Century. They came here with nothing and built from scratch. They never discriminated against anyone, and that includes AAs. I was not raised with any bias or prejudice against any race, including AAs.
My parents were not college graduates. Both worked hard to put their 3 children through school. My siblings and I are the first generation of college graudates in our family. All three of us also happen to have advanced degrees. With a combination of my parents help, working through school and student loans, I was able to put myself through undergraduate and law sc | |
