Yes, kudos to the Hornets.  Seeing them brings back memories of about 6 years ago when the Mavs were on the rise and beat the Jazz in the first round of the playoffs.   It would have been great if the Mavs could have gotten a championship out of it, but with the exception of the playoff disasters of the last two years, it's been a fun ride.

TexasBoy sums it up well.  This team needs to rebuild, but it's going to be at least a couple of seasons before they can even start.   If they keep him around, Dirk will be an old man before this team gets another sniff at a deep playoff run.  I agree, let him go.   That could get the rebuilding process started now instead of two or three years from now.

Hav fun Hornets fans.  Enjoy the ride.

If the Mavs can get a young good PG, like the one yall had before the trade, and put some investment into Brandon Bass it's possible yall could rebuild quicker than you think. I pray Mark Cuban does not fire Avery because he is a good coach, it's just he got screwed with all the moves Cuban made, starting with Marques Dainels being let go.

yeah letting Daniels go hurt but he was a trouble maker... If you haven't noticed Josh Howard has calmed down alot and doesn't even really get techs anymore for just a normal foul. He needed to go but he was a really good player for us.  I think the Harris trade was pathetic. How can you say that you are ready to win now when we went to the Finals then we had the best record in the NBA and we had a fluke loss in the first round last year. So you trade away half of that team after you improve in the offseason with Bass and Jones and get a pg that is on the brink of retirement... Seriously... I think Cuban was smoking a little somethin somethin with Josh while this trade went down.. Stupid.. We better have a bad ass offseason or im done with these guys they make me sick now... GO STARS!!!!!

Thanks Mavs !

In response to MBP22 and his last comments. I agree with most of your stuff but feel I should add. I'm pretty sure we could have kept Daniels but I really didn't care one way or another with him. When the trade for Kidd came about I was so against it. I listened to one of my friends who had some very good points about the trade and I tricked myself into believing it was the right thing to do so you could say I supported it. Now I'm F ing furious. We had a lot to work with for next year had we not traded Harris. Bass made hugh strides and yes we needed to let this year roll out and then fire Avery. Many people defend Avery but you know what, he lost this team 2 years ago and it wasn't his fault at the time, but now I believe he wanted Kidd and the team did play harder(It was obvious watching them play) when we got him. That in itself just showed we needed change. Avery micro managed Devin Harris and slowed his potential leaving him no margin for error.  I totally blame Avery for that. Josh has declined. Were kinda stuck now. No draft picks. Inflated salaries ( Kidd most of all ). Our only hope is that other players still want to play with Kidd and somehow we get some unrestricted free agents. anyone know who's availiable next year because lord knows we never can get a big time free agent on our own. I don't know what we can do now. I just wasted my time typing this shit. The Nowitski era is gone now. By the way Nowitski played about as good as we could of expected being injured and all. For years now we have always needed a high flier. when will we ever get one.
