our teams loaded with potential and talent ( remember  last years draft just finished their first years  ...theres still plenty of potential there)

though were the champs we have a pretty easy schedule..well as easy as it can get in our division... Im not predeicting undefeated or anything of that sort

but this could start  I wouldnt say a dynasty

but I dont see us missing the playoffs unless we get really banged up

weve made the playoffs so many times this decade  and we just keep improving

elis gotten better

mario manningham was a steal in the 3rd round  huge potential there

thomas and philips should improve our defence I would say tremendously buttt butlers still back there  wilson was probowl caliber in my eyes ..soo  we break even there  and add huge potential

suposedly we drafted Tom Brady part 2  in andre woodson ( now Im not saying we did but I can see him being in the nfl or awhile..maybe not as a starter or anything..theres a reason hes a 6th rounder..)  but nfl.com is comparing the 2..imagine that ..crazy huh

the lbs should fill in depth and such nicely also improving our special teams I hear

we still need a safety if you ask me  but I think johnson could step in eventualy  I really like the guy hes so fast too  and thats the last thing we need to finish off our dominant defence

so it feels like we got all the final pieces to create a superbowl caliber team ..but wait theres more

were still hungry  were more confident than ever   added depth and another player coach in this years weakest part of the team ( Sam Madison few years back for cbs..safety this year with knight)

if knight is still servicable then Im excited I hear hes real good and I know in his prime he was a stud

we added another nickle back in thomas  fighting with dockery should create a boost for 1 if not both of them

we kept shockey and I feel he just might shut up  realizing hes lost  and no1s taking his agents sh!t any more ( drews a b!tch  cj got the f#ck you because of him too)  shockey will instantly improve our te position from the playoffs  as long as his attitude doesnt go haywire and he doesnt get stupid penaltys

so what do you guys think ? Im sure your all very excited  but lets pretend these guys arent busts  do you think were alot better than last year ?

I think we did well in this years draft.  Players from Miami tend to scare me but overall I think we filled some of the holes with quality players.

A couple of surprises were our last two picks.  I thought we would add some depth at our O-Line.  Now we have 5 QB's .  I'm guessing we will have Eli start with Carr and Woodson as backups.  At DE, I think we're starting to gear up for a possible Strahan departure.

I'm glad we picked up Mario from Michigan.  With a solid running game and now a serious deep threat we should be piling up points throughout the season.  I am still worried though about any injuries to our O-Line, but as long as their healthy we can expect a lot of production.

I am pumped for this season, I don't realize how boring Sundays and Monday's until the offseason....  I also still think well see some questionable players step up (ie Shockey and Moss)

Ive really lost alot of faith in moss after all Ive heard  but from what I seen he just needs to learn to take every yard he can  get hit  and its ok lose five yards trying to run around for an extra few feet  you get benched...

I think jennings will step up this year  meaning moss and mario better do their best  we only have so many spots  ..same goes for hixon ..I think tryees solidified just for his special teams play and that superbowl catch should get him a 1 year pass

all shockey has to do is not get stupid penaltys  deal with blocking and  be more reliable when thrown to I wouldnt be surprised if he gets traded next year though  he wants a new contract  and the team really doesnt seem to love him  just matters whose in the draft next season  I guess

its great having alot of guys battling for spots on your team  alot better than sitting there going ..but  whose starting here?! ( like we did with ss last season  remember butler was our starter sadly  for a reason)

does any1 like butler?

Don't get too excited Joker keep your pants on! Man I'm still excited that we won the Super Bowl 3 months ago lol, as will I be until Sept. at which time I still might be excited about it. I know you're not supposed to live in the past but that was the greatest month of my life. As for our obvious log jam at WR, at least we know we've got depth now, not like 2 yrs. ago where Toomer went down and we only had 1 WR capable of making a play on the field. With all the options I'd like to see Moss cut, unfortunately Jennings doesn't make the team in my estimation because they won't give up on the high draft pick yet. Plax, Toomer, Smith, Moss, Manningham and Tyree makes the team on special teams alone. They won't keep 7 WR on the roster.

I think jennings will be our returner next year if hes still like he was pre injury    and yeah I know  Ill probably have  a heartattack and 2 strokes before next season with how excited I am  but dont worry it evens itself out with disapointment every time we lose any game

I cant blame them for not cutting moss yet  I gave up on him but I bet you hell be a good #3 for years to come  he just needs to stop trying to score on every play and read the damn playbook

mario should be good but who knows

hixon and jennings battle for return man   and  smith toomer burress and moss all garanteed a spot  I could see us having more wrs than last year   also tyree might be moved to safety dont forget that

any1 find it weird how the Redskins drafted ( I always do )  2 wrs if Im correct and a te ...they have cooley  moss and lloyd or el  and  they have our Anthony Mix !!  thats a pretty good squad I guess they plan on lining them up all at once and just go with the first ever  center 2 guard line  no tackles   cant wait to play them!! haha

If that ever had a chance of actually happening, I'd say that signing Knight and drafting Phillips whose got a good chance to start should've squashed it. We are pretty deep at the position barring mass injuries like last season, do we really need a converted WR being #5 on our depth chart at safety ? Seems like it'd be quite the waste of time, Tyree is a pro bowl caliber special teams player, he will have a roster spot regardless.

Tyree playing saftey is out the window. The Giants have good players at the safety position and most of them are interchangeable at wither safety position. Plus they have been talked about Webster being a emergency safety for the Giants if needed. Dont forget about Craig Dahl who will be compete for a spot on the team. I think we have a nice mix of age in the secondary. I can see big things from our secondary especially with the guidance of Sam Madison.

At wide receiver I see it as Plaxico, Amani, Steve Smith, Sinorice Moss, David Tyree, Mario Manningham

Jennings (might be signed to practice team) and Hixon will not make the team

Depending on how well Manningham can handle punt returns and Geoffrey Pope can play the slot...I think the Giants will let McQuarters go. Take 2.5 salary off the books.

Lorenzen and Wright are both gone...due to the additions of Carr and Woodson

Wasn't Dahl released a while ago for not passing his physical?

I don't see Moss making the team against Manningham.

Hixon will be back as a special teamer.

So will Tyree.

Lorenzen and Wright are gone.

Madison and Mcquarters are almost gone.

Shockey will have a monster year and be used to trade up in the draft next season to get a top notch DE/DT or hybrid.

Giants will win 12 games, and make the playoffs.

Cowboys will again look foolish for hiring Wade Phillips.

Eli Manning will have his breakout season, running a 2 TE offense. (Hey, if we keep talking about it, maybe Coughlin will see the light).

Strahan will play one more year and have a spot on Fox's Football Pregame show following next season.

I seem to recall hearing that somewhere too, and with all the players we will have in camp at this point in our defensive backfield, I think he's a non-issue.

I don't see Moss making the team against Manningham.
As much as I'd like to see it, Moss will be given at least 1 more year. The Giants are notorious for giving obvious flops 4 years to prove themselves, like Dave Brown, William Joseph, etc.

Shockey will have a monster year and be used to trade up in the draft next season to get a top notch DE/DT or hybrid.
If Shockey has a monster year and manages to not cause any trouble, why at that point would we trade him ?

imripped,

"If Shockey has a monster year and manages to not cause any trouble, why at that point would we trade him ?"

It's an option. If he's still unhappy or asking for a trade, we could get more for him than at this years draft. I don't know how valid the rumors are about the Giants considering trading Shockey or Shockey wanting to be traded but if there's any truth to them and Shockey is still unhappy, a trade is in the future, great season or not. It would be to everyone's benefit that he have a great season and not sit out (as the rumor went).

You're right about Moss. There is a good chance he stays, but he shouldn't. Even if he has a good preseason/training camp, his track record in games hasn't been very good. If we are as deep as I think in most positions, there will be very difficult decisions to be made concerning who to cut and who to keep. Do the math. Someone of value will eventually get cut that everyone will say "Huh?" That someone could be Moss, especially when we have Manningham (yes, I know he hasn't proven himself yet) but neither has Moss.

I am cautiously optimistic for next season..  This is the Giants remember.  As much as I love them, they never do what they are supposed to do, and always seem to defy logic and reason.  They're great (and won a SB) when they were supposed to suck; and they suck when they're supposed to be competitive..

A fourth and a fifth, and sixth SB championship wouldn't me to rethink or reconsider this.  The franchise simply has defied logic over the 22 years I've religiously followed them..  So whether they defend their title and repeat, or go 4-12 next season, it won't amaze me!  They would simply be the franchise I love.
