Well, we'll see what kind of action the Sharks bring back to Dallas now after losing both home games this weekend.
Tonight's affair, 5-2 Dallas win, really reinforced the theory that SJ doesn't play full 60 minute games. After coming out with guns blazing in the 1st period, just like in Game 1, SJ plays it about even with Dallas in the 2nd and ends up with a 2-1 lead. But, the consistency of the Stars keeps them in the game and their ability to convert chances in the final period pays off for four goals!
Once the power play finally comes, the Stars immediately cash in with the Modano goal off the sweet Zubov feed - man it's nice to see him back there on the point! The Richards' goal to tie the game in the opening minute of the period was an unstoppable shot by a skilled sniper.
Nabbie may win the Vezina for his regular season play, but it sure hasn't helped his playoff hockey performance. At this point there isn't a Conn Smythe in his future as the Sharks won't make it out of this round if he keep playing this way. Thornton and Marleau haven't helped the team's cause either to this point.
I expect the Stars might have their typical return-from-a-successful-road-trip let-down in Game 3. It might not even be close (see Game 3 against the Ducks). But, it could very easily be Stars in 5 at this point. I'll be there Tuesday night to see how it it goes down, though!
GO STARS! BELIEVE!!
