I spoke a little prematurely when writing that this offense leads to three strikes. PP has already had a few brushes with the law. According to BB's policy dating back to his days at W. VA., PP has to go. His other arrests were not this serious, but their were still charges filed. PP was arrested by Tallahassee police on Nov. 5, 2006 after trying to steal a DVD at Best Buy on Apalachee Parkway, according to Leon County records. The DVD was vaulated at $9.99.
Parker, then a freshman at FSU, was observed by store-security workers on closed-circuit TV. Parker and prosecutors reached a diversion agreement which would allow the charge to be dismissed.
But, according to court records, Parker still owes $200 in court costs and fines, and the case remains open.
I know how much FSU needs him and BB believes in second chances, but whatever happened to personal responsibilty, accepting the consequences and then bettering ourself after that. I know when I got in trouble, I was punished and if I made the same mistake (or similiar) it would only be my fault if I didn't learn from anything. I'm tired of people saying, give this "kid" a break, another chance; and if you don't he may fail in life. Furthermore, if he fails to become a productive member of society than it's not his fault! He is not a "kid" anyway. He is a grown adult and many grown adults his age or younger are dying everyday here and in the middle east.
Don't get me wrong, I still have high hopes for this upcoming season, but I don't want comprimise integrity and responsibilty for wins. If some of you are famailiar w/ the concept of CORE VALUES, whether Marines, Navy, etc; BB/JF may need to institute somthong like that to his players. Here's an example from a part of my life: PRIDE=Professional, Respect, Integrity, Discipline, Enthusiasm.
