Without Ellis this series would have been 4-0 and embarassing.  As it ended, everyone knows Detriot is twice as talented as Nashville and that Nashville has a damn good tender.  Problem lies with Ellis needing a contract.  Will the new owners step up?

Nashville can't afford to have any injuries as long as they remain a "small market" team.

no one can, not anymore. Long gone are the days of drafting for 5 years down the road or longer and peppereing the roster with high quallity vets ( i.e. Redwings before the lockout)

That being said, the Predators needed all hands on deck to beat a more talented and veteran squad. Dan Ellis sure made it closer than most in the hockey world would have ever thought at the begining of the season; I never once thought we would have been anywhere other than in the basement of the Central.

Kudos to the Redwings on a good series, Dan Ellis for making it closer than it should have been, and Barry Trotz for getting us to the playoffs in the first place!
