It is on SNY here in NY. It is a great night to watch sports here in NY. you have this match up which is going to be a great one. You also have the Rangers in NJ trying to clinch their first round series vs the Devils.
Man, thank god i got HD Picture in Picture on my plasma.
Oh, and doc, we have avatar bets going with some philly fans, you want in?

Johan Santana really needs this win. Mets fans have already booed him, and he is playing a Phillies team who loves the long ball. If he can keep them in the park, it shouldn't be a problem. He's still yet to beat a contender team, with losses to the Braves and Brewers? If I remember correctly it was the Brewers. Johan shouldn't have too much trouble with the phillies. Cole Hamels will get to show the mets fans if he is going to have it this year or not. Off the subject, I htink it is bullcrap the braves will play the Marlins, Nationals, and mets TWICE before they play the Phillies once.

You're probably right about Johan Santana not having to worry about the Phillies. It's the Mets bullpen that has to worry. Still, after the shlacking the Phillies gave the Astros yesterday, the offense just might be starting to get in sync. Now they're going to be playing the Mets, at home, and they're ace pitcher is on the mound. Really, neither starting pitcher should have a problem tonight. It's gonna be really good weather, perfect for baseball, and Hamels has been on fire since his first day. ERA of 0.82....let's see if the Mets can do damage to it or not.
Anyways, I see the losing pitcher tonight coming from one of the bullpens. Being a Phillies fan, I can point out the slight edge Phillies have. The offense, and Pat Burrell is the obvious. Pitching matchup is pretty much dead even. It's the bullpens, and right now the Phillies bullpen has been doing a better job then the Mets. Lidge is really showing what he can do and ever since he came back from the DL, has not had a loss yet and has 2 saves (i don't know how many oppurtunities yet, I think it's 3).
Should be a great game.

Last yr he went to the manager to make sure he got to pitch against Maine because the press was talking so much about Maine pitching like a #1.
