I would like to point out that the Badgers' record in the challenge should be 4-5.
They could very well have two more wins beyond the one you reference with Wake Forest. They outplayed Maryland on the road and wound up losing in overtime. I remember a little home cooking down the stretch of that game. A kid by the name of Caner-Medley got away with bloody murder.
UW was also up by like 20 points at Georgia Tech in Bo Ryan's first season and they found a way to lose. I think maybe one or both of these would have been wins had they been played in Madison but apparently there is some rule against playing a challenge game at the Kohl Center.
