1. C. Greg Oden
2. PF. LaMarcus Aldridge
3. SF. Travis Outlaw
4. SG. Brandon Roy
5. ??????
i really have a problem with all our point guards blake's streaky and jack doesn't push the ball. if you look on youtube you can see that sergio has the potential but he dosent impress me much either.
Anybody hear anything about Rudy Fernandaz?

I've only heard great things about Rudy Fernandez. He can play either guard position. He has the potential to be a big-time scorer. Some compare him to Manu Ginobli. He can also play PG, but I don't know if that would be his natural position. Between him and Roy they could take turns handling the ball. I agree that I don't like our current PG situation. I would like to see Jack traded. Blake & Sergio are fine for bench players, but neither should start.
The Blazers could go several different directions with PG. They could try to move up in the draft and select Rose, Mayo or Westbrook to be the longterm PG solution. They could trade for a veteran PG like Baron Davis. Or they could address depth at PF and just let Roy, Fernandez, Blake & Sergio all take turns at PG next year.
Derrick Rose would be ideal. But if the Blazers traded for someone like Baron Davis or Andre Miller that would be good too. It would add some veteran leadership to this young team.
It should be interesting whatever they decide.

Yah Baron Davis' name has been thrown around alot. I like ur Andre Miller suggestion, that would work very well. I also think that Jose Calderon out of Toronto would be an idal PG for Portland, Very good shooter, above average defense, and lightning fast on the fast break. Good finisher on the break also. I can't wait to c more Rudy... I got a chance to watch some Spanish League games on NBA TV w/ Rudy's team. I definately like what I see.

I agree with you guys, are point guards are at best average. I tell you what, we are 1 superstar point guard away from becoming contenders to win the whole enchilada!
saw Rudy as well, WOW! When we get him and a better point, we have to be favorites in the west, probably the whole league.
Kuddos to the management team for putting a plan together, and sticking to it. I live in Toledo, Ohio (born and raised) and the one thing i still hear is all of the "Jailblazer" jokes. Thanks for making my life a little easier Mr. Pritchard. GO BLAZERS!

BLAZERMAXIA,
Catch a cople of Raptor playoff games and let me know what you think of Jose Calderon. I can picture him so easily as a Blazer. He just seems to fit the mold of what Portland needs. I love his passion he displays on the court as well. Plus he puts up good numbers, 11 points a game 8 assists, shoots 52% from field, 42% from three, and 91% from the line!!! Plus he is good pals with Sergio and Rudy. Guy is a proven winner, remember he has a GOLD MEDAL!!! So I guess you could say I'm on the Calderon band-wagon. After a couple ORLANDO-Toronto games let me know what you think, lets see how he does in the playoffs.

Its gotta be Blake at the point. Jack is better coming off the bench. Fernandez is going to be another sabonis the Blazers wont bring him over the the nba until he is passed his prime.

31 Flav, lol, that is a very very good point!
ducmanac, we dont need another swing guy. If we did, Martell or Jones would lose minutes. Maggette is probably better than both of those two, But neither Maggette or Outlaw will want to come off of the bench. Plus, he has character issues, we dont need a guy like that.
Im starting the "Point to Portland" campaign. We need an above average point so bad, that is our missing piece. Im gonna do free lance scouting for the Blazers!!!!!

I see the Blazers packaging Jack and Blake, and/or perhaps Frye, to swap for another team's pick to get one of the top PGs in the draft. We'll be getting Fernandez, so we can afford to lose 2 backup PGs. The PG crop this year is pretty impressive, so our draft choice will probably start. And we will likely give Travis the nod over Webster, who continues to prove he's not starter material. We really need to keep Jones and Pryz (obviously), and hopefully Webster as a shooter that can get hot off the bench. And I think McRoberts has a lot of potential, he just never gets the minutes.

Why not Draft a PG in the 2nd round with one of our picks? Someone that has a pure shot and can get the job done at both ends of the basketball. How about my homeboy from "The" University Of Dayton Brian Roberts. Has an Excellent shot and could be a real scoring threat. I think he has a better chance then Jack and Blake.

Why not Draft a PG in the 2nd round with one of our picks?
Because our biggest need is a proven scorer with excellent court vision and ability to create and lead the fastbreak, something we do not have. We need a PG who can share the offensive load with B-Roy and LA, and we need to get the best "can't miss" PG available. We have to nab him in the first round. I see Travis getting the SF nod, but I see us picking a backup in the second to contend for minutes with Webster. I strongly think Frye is going to be part of the packaged deal Pritchard will propose to the team we'll trade picks for.

It would be nice to get your guy in the 2nd, but he might not get the minutes... We'll have Rudy but I'm not sure if he'll be comfortable playing the 1 or having to ride the bench behind Roy. If he can play the 1 and compete for minutes with our first rounder, that leaves little time for your guy. I'm thinking maybe some of the later picks will be swapped for one or more veteran bench players. We struck gold in acquiring Jones, maybe lightning can strike twice, or more perhaps. We shall see.
