I think we should definitely be ranked in every preseason top 10. Delvon Roe looks like he's going to be a beast. Chris Allen should take over Drew Neitzel's role shooting-wise, and Korie L. should take over what Allen's role was last year.

PG- Kalin Lucas, Travis Walton

SG- Chris Allen, Lucious(sp?),

SF- Raymar Morgan, Durrell Summers, Isaiah Dahlman,

PF- Delvon Roe, Marquis Gray, Draymond Green,

C- Suton, Herzog, Ibok

Come on, now. That doesn't look like a 22nd place preseason team to me. If I'm being honest, we should be in the top 10, possibly top 5. Drew Neitzel was good, but is not irreplacable. Our guards should be as good as they were last year, and we finally have a dominating post presence that we lacked last year with Roe. Watch out for dem Spartans next year.

I agree with everything you said.

All said, though, I would prefer the pre-season ranking to be low so if something happens we do not have to put up with the stench of "overrated" again.

Let State begin the season unranked for all I care. A Sweet 16 or better finish will be quite satisfactory. Better would be better.

Of course we all would be at least mildly pleased were State to go undefeated, right? But let us not get our hopes up into the unrealistic.

GO STATE!

You are correct:  the lineup is nasty.  There are a lot of parts that got overlooked due to Neitzel.  Suton quietly puts together a solid game down low, Morgan is crazy good but needs to rid himself of the inconsistency and learn how to dribble the ball on his first step.  I expect Summers and Allen improve drastically with Drew gone.  Not to mention Lucious and Green.  The biggest question mark is what effect the microfracture surgery will have on Roe.  That and MSU loses a ridiculously good game-changer in Neitzel, so that is what caused them to drop to the low 20's in most polls.

You know what though?  I like starting in the high teens/low 20's to start the season.  Lower expectations and we can fly under the eye of scrutiny for the most part.  We have a game on the road in Texas this year and Kansas at home.  (Izzo, you are a mad-man with the scheduling... but that's how we can get some good recruits). Not to mention a big ACC game among others.

Here's to hoping Roe is healthy and ready to own the paint!

Go Green!

the spartans will be good. no doubt. even if roe doesnt recover fully. gray is fully capable of dominating the post with suton. hes showed us that before. but i think kalin lucas will step up and be one of the best in the big 10. hes proven he can be a leader. but i cant wait til they start!

GO STATE!!!
