Get used to him boys and girls...he's our new coach.  This again reinforces WKU's commitment to mid-Major mediocrity.

I'm kinda excited about him coming to WKU.  There are a lot of great head coaches that started as assistants.  He seems to be very interested in staying for while.  I think he will do fine.  I guess we will see very soon.

Just curious Vega....who would you have suggested?  I don't think the Tops are going to be able to get Roy Williams to leave North Carolina.....LOL.  Don't get me wrong, I agree with how you feel - I just think that a team in the Sun Belt conference has to find coaches, they are going to be able to get a great coach from another school.

Who's asking for Roy Williams?  Read my post about Bobby Knight!!! We almost had him ;)

I think that Ken McDonald would have made it by now if he was going to.  I am afraid we've got another Matt Kilcullen with this hire.  I'm sure he's a great assistant, but the transition to HC will be a hard one.  I hope I'm wrong.

Well, Kilcullen wasn't an assistant when he went to WKU. So, already you can't compare the two. Also, why do you want Bobby Knight? He hasn't won anything in a long time. He was mediocre at best at Texas Tech. At this point in his career....he's not the type of coach that you can build a program around.....and by the way...he's a head case. Dennis Felton and Darrin Horn were not head coaches when they got to WKU....and they were excellent. Ralph Willard was a long time assistant when he got the job...and he was excellent. The only one who wasn't an assistant......Killcullen. Something to think about before you let your fingers do the work your brain SHOULD be doing.

To most readers the 'wink' after the Knight comment would seem to indicate some level of sarcasm. Obviously it doesn't to you. I wouldn't want him any where near the program.

Where did I say Kilcullen was an assistant before he came to WKU? I didn't say it..just that he was a "convenient" hire (and a bad one). And on that level you CAN compare the two.

Ralph Willard was an EXCELLENT coach at WKU (and one of my all-time favorites), but fell flat on his face at Pitt. He also had NBA experience (Knicks) and came out of 'Don' Pitino's system. Rick Barnes gets the players, but never does anything in the NCAA's. That's the system that McDonald is coming from. Who's to say that McDonald has any success (making him another Kilcullen)???

Now on to you, personally. This response is coming from a guy who states in a post when referring to the KC Chiefs, "Don't worry.....things are about to get better. This is as excited as I have been about the Chiefs in some time. Finally they are getting good, young talent in the right places. "   That alone speaks volumes about your knowledge of sports. Las Vegas will probably put KC's Total Wins over/under at 6.  I'M TAKING THE UNDER!!!

Go Topps!!! F-Cunniff.
