Although one can argue that the ladies games are as competitive in their repective level of play, and can generate just as much excitement for their fans as can the men's games, comparing the two is simply foolish. The easiest argument to make against the ladies game is that they have to use a smaller and lighter basketball than the men, yet still can't generate much more scoring than an average Men's High School game. Given the advantage of a smaller and lighter ball should increase scoring and ultimately, the "excitement" factor of the games because it should be easier to score, dribble, dunk, and generally handle. I live in Las Vegas, and we don't have any major league sports teams in this city. We do have minor league hocket and AAA baseball. I attend probably 5 - 10 of these games each year, and while they are competitive in their respective levels, I'm never fooled into believing that I'm watching top level play. Freeman's article saying that the Women's game has caught up or passed the Men's game is just ridiculous.
