Every year somebody reads too many of their own headlines and determines they are ready for the next level. Every year someone is shown or talked about unmercifully as they slip down the draft boards. There has to be someone out there with some sense that realizes they need to stay in school and develop their game. Who do you think has made the worst decision to leave early?

It's really stupid. I would say Robin..well, or Brook. they're both dumb. Equally bad.
They can't even learn from Stephen Curry!!! That's a smart kid.

you both must be stanford fans.......First of all Brook will be a top 10-15 pick because of his skill set and size........and Robin will be a first round pick because of his defense, i dont know if he will be top 20 but he will go in the first round

Both may get picked in the first round, but how much higher could they have gone if they had stayed in college for 1-2 more years? It's a dumb move by both, but much more so by Robin. He'd better hope he gets picked in the first round or he won't even be guaranteed a roster spot.

What are you talking about? Brook was a definite pro after this year. There was no reason for him to stay another year. Projected to be in the top 5 in this years draft. But Robin should have stayed another year and worked on his game. As a fan it sucks to see them go but you guys make me laugh when you say its a bad decision for brook to turn pro when he has no reason to stay another year.

I totally disagree. When will these guys learn they have an opportunity to earn a degree from one of the most prominent Universities in the country. These guys are average players at best. Pro ball doesn't last forever and these kids need to develop maturity. They need to prepare for the time the NBA kicks them to the curb for the "next big thing".

When will you learn that whatever degree they get from Stanford will not bring them the MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that even bench riding scrubs earn in the NBA.
I don't understand why basketball players are always scrutinized for becoming professional athletes. We never do it to 16 year old gymnasts, swimmers, snowboarders, skateboarders, or 17 and 18 year old hockey and baseball players. Soccer and tennis prodigies NEVER even get real high school degrees or experiences. Yet as soon as some hooper wants to pursue his dream on his own schedule, everyone becomes advocates of education.
I have a very close friend who had a decent NBA career with the Atlanta Hawks. His rookie contract was for $750,000/year. After 3 years, he resigned for a boatload of upfront cash and 3mil/year. His career only lasted 6 years. He is rich forever, never has to work again. You know why?
He has a pension that pays him at minimum $125,000/ year (players are fully vested after 4 years playing ) FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE. That's more than most Alum of Stanford or any other University can say they will make in their lifetime.
Do you idiots get it now?
You all have some mystical love affair with the NCAA and think the players should love the experience, yada, yada, yada....The players understand all too well that they are being used by the NCAA to generate income. When they feel THEY are ready to reap the benefits of their talent and hard work, they should do so.

Both will get drafted probally both in the first round, just because of there size seven footers with skills, thought they might of came back and left after thier junior year , but if they think it is more valuble to leave now then good for them

I am going out on a limb and this one isn't very big. We know they are both 1st round picks, but i am saying this first that Robin will be a better player. He can defend very well and has a huge impact in the middle. He blocks shots well. He has also been in the shadow of his brother and not had a chance to show his offensive skills. He will develop and be a great player.

Is it just me or does this draft pool look more diluted as we go? The Lopez twins are skilled, but who in the lottery can develop these guys? The Grizzlies are atrocious in the middle, the Heat don't have a veteran to train them, the Sonics are notorious for failing to develop big men they draft, and so no and so forth. Really, Charlotte and Portland offer the best chance for the twins to reach their potential, because they can compete vs. Omeka Okafor or Greg Oden day in and day out.

if they do somehow get drafted they need to develop so much more. The NBA is not a place to develop. Look at Marvin Williams or Martell Webster, both top picks that have not developed and are not going to have much of a future.

Having been to the last 8 Stanford games in person, no one has even seen their potential. The Stanford coach is flat out dumb and can't coach. Coach of the Year? Please, he got it because the Twins carried the team. Want to know what offense he ran? He sent Brook to the right block every possession. Any screens for your best player? Um no! Move him around to make him even harder to guard? Um no! He takes Robin out of the game after 4 minutes of each half and the other team goes on a run. If you watched the Marquette game, the asst coach left Robin in the game in the second half and they shut down any inside game. The guard play flat out sucked and shouldn't even be on the team. Any team that had good guard play and pressed would kill them.
As far as draft positions, the NBA will always employ 7 footers. The Collins bros don't do jack in the league and they both have nice contracts.
