This year started off with some promise, but as we have seen we couldn't sustain it. Does anyone else think it's time to dump Tkachuk for a good young prospect, and does anyone else think that T.J. Oshie and Ben Bishop will be on the big club next year?

oshie will be here.  bishop , dont know.  i know a guy who knows TJ and the word is he is coming.

come on number 1 pick!!! no whammies!.  id say we are guaranteed a top 5 pick, no?  if we keep losing the NHL will feel sorry for us and make an extra number ....say the #.5 pick

go Blues (2009)...eh , so sad

I think this team needs a youth movement...  We aren't fast enough, we aren't feisty enough and our backup goaltending is only OK, not good in this league...

Andy Murray isn't a bad coach, he's just sitting on a few too many gray hairs and it showed big time in the last half of the season...

JMHO guys...

the way tiovonnen played this year, lets hope bishop is with the big team next year.

i would think that oshie is a given.

very disappointing 2nd half, i'm still stinging from the salvadore trade (although janssen's energy is impressive - makes you wonder where mayers figures in long term).  i'm really curious if everything is ok in the locker room - maybe it is time for walt to go.

had partial season tickets this year, will not be purchasing again for 09'.

The Blues are still doing what they've been trying to do for years.  Build from within: it's GM Larry Pleau's motto.  And I shudder to think, it may finally be working.  There are a number of free agents who won't be coming back after last season (Martin Rucinsky, Mike Johnson), and some who just won't be coming back due to poor play (Hannu Toivonen, that would be you).

Those departures leave some openings...for a backup goalie, expect either Marek Schwarz or Chris Beckford-Tseu to take the job, with Ben Bishop playing with the Peoria Rivermen with the loser of that battle.  Patrick Berglund will probably make the club, and then a slew of young guys from Peoria (Steve Wagner, Roman Polak, Ian Cole, Yan Stastny, and Chris Porter) and Europe (Tomas Kana, Jonas Junland, Lars Eller) have a shot at not only making the club, but actually producing for us.

Larry Pleau's strategy has been driving me nuts for years, but this is the first time that it actually may have a shot at working.

But of course, here is to another frustrating attempt to follow the Blues from a college in the middle-of-nowhere Nebraska...LET'S GO BLUES!!!!!!

Oshie will be here, that is a given. Bishop is still probably a year or two away from being able to contribute here full-time. We got the #4 pick in the draft so hopefully some help will come from there. I still think the Blues should go out and get another scorer in free agency to help out Boyes. Any thoughts on who that could be? With the youngsters like Polak, Wagner and Bergland coming up next year, the Blues could make a push for the playoffs.

next year... we need to give some help to manny. we need to dig in the free-agent market for players of value. but the most important thing is more depth. so we can start sendin injured players like boyes to the minors for rehab. right now, we just cant do that. we neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed help.
