1. The Georgetown Win was no fluke. Davidson didn't just get lucky against a sloppy Hoya team. They played Wisconsin strong, and ran away in the second half. They punched their legitimacy card tonight, and showed they were the real deal. This is no fluke, flash-in-the-pan team. Bill Self (or Jay Wright) better be paying attention.

2. Defense doesn't work. Georgetown and Wisconsin were two of the top 5 defenses in the NCAA this year, by almost any measure. Davidson, well, Stephen Curry, destroyed both teams.  Defense doesn't appear to work against these guys. If you are going to beat Davidson, you're going to have to score early, often, and maybe a bit in between.  Kansas can do this, but will they.  Can Villanova pull it off in the late game? Either way, it's going to be a heck of a showdown on Sunday.

Yeah, Davidson is definitely the real deal. Curry is a whale of a player right now; he's gotten like 3 games now with at least 30+ points. Amazing.
I predict it'll be KU-Davidson; the winner of that? I can't really say. I'm gonna take a safe bet and say KU, just b/c of what they've done this season and all. But, with this win tonight, I'm not going to be at all surprised if Davidson wins after all. I'll say one thing though; that would blow out my bracket for sure ;)

WOW What a stroke Curry has.  That is as pure of a shooter as I've seen in a long time.   As a bonus, he has a good supporting cast as well.  I can't believe one of the "big" schools didn't snag him.

River_Rat,

The big schools didn't want him because he was to small only 5'11" at the time.  He wanted to go to his Dad's Alma-mater and they didn't have any interest in him.  What do you think VT is saying now that he is 6'2" and not only playing with the big boys but beating them.

Big Ten the weakest conference? Well we know someone is biased because if you look at it objectively the Big 10 had two teams in the sweet 16 with 4 in, while the Big East gets 8 and can only get 3 in the sweet 16.

Only 4 teams from the Big 10 got into the tournament, because there were no other teams that derserved at large bids, let alone teams that would have been able to win a game in the tournament. 7 of 8 BE teams actually won their first game (and UConn's PG left the game in the first half.) Besides the Big 10 didn't get a clean 1st round sweep either - Indiana lost proving they deserved no better than their 8 seed.

remember you have 16 teams in your conference so you have more teams out of the tourney then the Big 10

Of course defense works.

Didnt you see what Davidson's D did to the Badgers?

Well put. Let me rephrase. Defense against Stephen Curry and Davidson does not appear to work. Thanks for the clarification.

I wonder what the coaches (especially Virginia Tech) who overlooked Curry are thinking now. His little brother is just as good and is going to Liberty University!! You figure that since his father (Dell Curry) holds the record of most points and VT and that his mother played volleball there as well that they would have given Curry a scholarship. Where is the loyalty at VT?
