this was far and away the worst effort ive seen by my badgers since that duke spanking. no effort. no drive. no hustle. no common sense.
we flat out suck.
i just saw michael flowers give up on a rebound and take a cheap foul. thats when i knew it was over.
good luck to davidson in the next round.
the biggest disappointment, is that just like last season, all the player haters on this website will use this one game to judge the wisconsin team as a whole. we are much better than what you saw tonight. i am baffled.
time to drink. heavily.
havent been this bummed since the NFC title game.

I'm with you. Time to down a good ole case of Miller Lite by myself all alone in my apartment to drink away this game. Badgers lay an egg in the Sweet 16, Packers play terrible in the NFC championship game and lose by a field goal in OT.... I don't know how much more I can take.

And they have every right - worst 30-win team I have watched in a long time. There is no excuse for getting schooled my a mid-major, Curry or not. No Excuse.

You can't call Davidson, who have 27 wins, swept their conference and made their second straight tournament a mid-major. They have a star player and have pretty much proven they have a major program.
If you're good, you're good... if you're bad, you're bad. There is no "Mid-Major".
Florida press conference, before game vs. Butler (Sweet Sixteen '07):
"If you win 25 games and beat everybody in your way... you are not a Mid-Major. No team that makes it this far in this tournament is a Mid-Major."

I agree that the Internet can be unkind, but it can also be gracious, helpful, silly or whatever we choose to make of it. Guaranteeing victory is a silly thing to do, and I never do it (except to tease people I know, and only then in person) , but even for a team I dislike, I don't believe rubbing salt in the wounds, especially when the wounds are fresh, is sportsmanlike. I'm old school that way.

Are u kidding? Davidson, while hot right now, is still a mid-major. Granted, Wisconsin isnt very good, but to suggest the Wildcats are a MAJOR program is just plain stupid. U gotta earn the right to be considered a MAJOR program over YEARS, not a Cinderella run or whatnot like a George Mason. Even one year of a great record doesnt make u a MAJOR program. That means Southern Illinois last year was a MAJOR program. That means Kent State in 2002 when they reached the Elite Eight was a MAJOR program. And hate it all u want, but MAJOR programs have some sort of history/tradition of consistent, sustained success. This is Davidsons first Elite Eight since 1969.... Is that a "major" program? Gtfo here

S&E: I agree with you on just about everything, but for the assertion that "Wisconsin isn't very good." That's as far from correct as you can get. They are big, atheletic, and deep. Davidson just flat out played the better game tonight.
As for Davidson's next game (presumably Kansas), I suspect Davidson will need a prayer (many of them, in fact).

coach...I'm definitely proud of what Wisconsin accomplished this year. They were unranked and picked in the middle of the Big 10. They won 30 games for the second straight year, swept the Big 10 titles, and got to the Sweet 16. When you look at what people expected and what Wisconsin accomplished, they played far beyond expectations.
But to get to an Elite 8 means so much in college basketball. It's tough when it's right there for the taking and you get taken.
But I'll always be proud of my team. This team was composed of student-athletes who make me proud to be a Badger fan and I said before the game that nothing could make me feel anything less than total pride in the way they conducted themselves and the way they played the game.

Thanks phog. I had a bad feeling when I got the email yesterday that said I could buy Final Four tix through the alumni association. I had Super Bowl tix locked up for the Pack, too, and you know how that turned out. I hope I never get ticket offers for my favorite teams in the big games ever again. LOL!
