Thank you Cougs for an Incredible Run!
Making the Sweet-16 is a huge victory for Pullman/WSU/Palouse!

I think Kyle Weaver summed up the NC game perfectly- "It was an Ice Storm out there".  Meaning- all Coug shooters were ice cold.

The Cougs played their game....defense was perfect (holding NC to <70 points)......they just could not make a shot!  If D-Low/Taylor/Daven would have hit a few threes...different story!

So: Defense was perfect, but offense was MISSING!

Oh well....sometimes the damn ball just won't go in the hole!

We had one of those nights.  It was NOT the Tarheel Defense- we had great looks!  they would not drop.

BAYNES PLAYED OUT OF HIS MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a post game interview, with Low "when Baynes fouled out I thought- I will never be on the court gain with Aaron, and same thing when Cowgill left".....if he is thinking about these melancholic ideas, no wonder his 3-point shot would not drop!

In my opinion, I prefer to take "humanity" over "die-hard-competitive-bicker-at
titude"....even if it means not seeing the elite-8.

Cowgill was in tears with the same type of philosophical insights (amazing- he is the man for showing his emotions on national TV)!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Work Tony!  A Beautiful Team.

I can't wait for next season!

Cheers-
Bert Bogden

Aye, great season fellas. It's a shame we had such a poor shooting night against UNC; poor timing. It's been a hell of a run, I'm really going to miss the seniors. They are instant Cougar legends.

Which begs the question....should they retire Low and Weaver's numbers for what they've done to help resurrect the program from the roughly 15 year time out from being competitive?

Yea i believe they definately should retire their numbers.  I cant remember any former cougs going pro, and i believe these two will.  Weaver maybe in the first round.  These guys also did so much off the court as well and i hope they will be recognized.

Agreed....I think these two numbers need to be hanging on the rafters in Friel Court.

The only other Coug I am aware of is: Jeff Varem .....he is signed with Chigao, but playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce right now.

Low & Weaver number should both be retired, and I agree that Weaver will go in the first round....D Low & Cowgill might be late round picks- or end up in Europe for a few years.

Chris Henry better get his CV updated, the local high school in Moscow Idaho needs an assistant.  :)

GOOD CALL!

You are 100% right!  Craig Ehlo was a Coug (just looked him up and he was before my time).  I do not recall him playing in the pros AT ALL.....but I certainly remember this (I copied it from Wikipedia):

Ehlo is perhaps best remembered for being the victim of two of Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan's greatest performances. On May 7, 1989, Ehlo, then a Cavalier, was defending Jordan when the Chicago Bull made "The Shot", the legendary series-clinching jumper in the first round of the NBA Playoffs in front of a Cleveland home crowd.

Bummer to be known for that....

This was a special, special season for WSU.

Dick & Tony Bennett have done so much for our program.  If you would have told me we would be in the Sweet 16 two years from now, I'd call you insane.  Weaver, Low and Cowgill did so much for our program.  All three of their numbers should be retired!

As for football coming up, can't wait! Hopefully Calvin Schmidtke will be playing QB in a couple of season, he lives about a block away from me and went to the same highschool I did.

Go Cougs!

Craig Ehlo was a very good player in the NBA after a great run at WSU. I believe he is now broadcasting games, even did a few Coug games.

Mark Hendrickson played with the 76er's for a few years and is now pitching for Tampa Bay Rays, I think he was the opening day starter this year.

Brian Quinnett was with the Knicks for a couple years, backing up Patrick Ewing.

We've had a few in the NBA, but would sure love to see Weaver out there for many years to come. He needs to work on his shot, get more confidence.
