I got this from the Cubs thread site, and it is extremely helpful! enjoy guys!

i think a lot of people who are new to the site are curious about some tips on building your overall rating.  i have put together a list that should help you bring your scores up a lot.  it does pay to have a higher rating although most people are not too worried about it.  i think if you are a superstar you get to glog during game casts, which is pretty cool, and i know you have to be so high to choose your own personalized avatar.   so here goes.  feel free to add onto the list if i am missing anything major, because i am sure that i have

1. play the cbs games, but only the ones that you can save your score on.  you can find a link on your profile page.  it will build your skills rating

2. add members that have a high rating to your favorites page..

3.  make solid posts and try not to piss people off so that members with high ratings will add you as a friend.  these two will build your connections.

4.  rate peoples posts but dont go crazy.  they look down on people dishing out 5s to everyone and they do the same for those who hit everyone with a 1.

5.  when rating member posts dont follow them around and rate all of their posts bad if they make you mad.

6.  watch the language because a warning will cost you a lot of points and will keep you low for like 3 months.

7.  the best way to add points is to play cbs fantasy sports.  these add a ton to your skills section.

8.  make sure you visit the site regularly and post quite often

9.  they also like you to post on a variety of pages.  i dont do it that much and tend to stay around the Cubs page, but occasionally i will hit other sports pages, team pages, as well as general boards.  however my rating is 99 and i rarely leave the cubs page,  but i am quite bored and post very frequently.

10.  use full player names and team names when mking a post.  this will create a link to their profile and add points to your score.  should help bring up the value category.

Cubs Astros Cardinals Pirates Reds Brewers

Derrek Lee Aramis Ramirez Geovany Soto Kosuke Fukudome Ryan Theriot Alfonso Soriano Mark DeRosa Felix Pie Carlos Zambrano Ted Lilly Jason Marquis Rich Hill Jon Lieber Ryan Dempster Kerry Wood Carlos Marmol Bob Howry Scott Eyre Jose Ceda Kevin Hart Sean Marshall Neal Cotts Sam Fuld Matt Murton Daryle Ward

hope these things will help you guys out that are trying to build your ratings up.

Thanks for the help but I don't care about the ratings. I just like the interaction between fans. I just tend to ignore the fools who rant against us Cub fans and try to have positive conversations with others regardless f their opinions.
