Im happy for Gomez, i hope he does real well for them. If he stole 10 bases during spring training...i think he'll top 45..easily.

I'll give ya 5 more.......... I was thinking the same but he's going to need to improve at the plate. He's got the skills with the glove but it's his bat and can he stay in the line-up all year?

He's gonna have a hard time keeping that starting job if the Twins think they're close to contention at some point.  He can only steal bases if he gets on base, which is why the Mets would have been smart to keep him in AAA most of this year if they still had him.  Carlos Gomez has great potential, but terrible plate discipline... He struck out the other day on a pitch that hit him in the batters box... that's not what I would call a good eye...

I do wish him lots of luck this year, but I think that trying to learn on the major league level is going to hurt his development.

Carlos Gomez will be a very good player. Now that he will be starting, he will learn plate discipline and become better as he goes. I think, if he plays enough, he'll easily steal 50 and he has enough speed to lead the league in stolen bases IF he plays enough.
