Okay maybe I'm being a little dramatic but they are beating teams who nobody would have dreamed of with line-up we have but the young guys are stepping up and playing ridiculously well. We beat the Piston, Suns, Spurs, Bulls and have won 15 of the last 19 and 8 of the last 9. They have played extremely well and are one game under .500 since November. Creeping up on the Wizards and Raptors. They can't hold us back.Let me know hwat you guys think of the young guys playing well and Miller being the leader of this team. How about Dalambert too. He is playing the way we paid him teo years ago and it's about time.
Playoff Bound Baby!!
Go Sixers!

While I agree the Sixers look like they are on fire... and pretty much crush the Spurs in their last game it's going to be interesting to see what they can do if they make the playoffs. I think they could make it to the second round but beyond that it could get tough... also would depend on where we are seeded at.

The problem is that the Sixers NEED the 6th spot in the eastern conference. I believe they cannot beat Boston or Detriot 4 times. Even though they beat Detriot earlier in the season, Detriot is too good to lose in the first round of the playoffs.

Exactly, If were put into a position where we have to play Boston or Detroit in the first round its very unlikely well win the series, though the way the sixers are playing we could probably put up a good fight

I agree that facing Boston or Detroit in the first round would make it very hard to get to the 2nd round. No one wants to be 1 and done in the playoffs so it would imperative that the Sixers continue to play like they are now till the end of the season. There is no guarantee that Toronto and Washington will finish 5th and 6th respectively. Injuries are and will continue to play a big part in the seeding in the Eastern Conference. Chris Bosh and Gilbert Arenas currently are missing and even though Andre Miller is a warrior, there's no telling if his back will cause him to miss any significant time before the close of the regular season. So with that being said, hopefully the 76ers will finish no lower than the 6th seed. That will give them their best chance to advance to the 2nd round.

Right now at this point in the season we are a better team than both the Raptors and the Wizards..Mo Cheeks has brought them together at the right time it looks like..Getting some good center play which has solidified the whole offense i think is the latest key.. Dalembert looks very good..AI 1 in town tonight lets hope for the best..Goooo Sixers

i wouldn't say that yet... the Raptors just got Chris Bosh back after 10 games and the Wizards are closer to getting Gilbert back... we cant get over-confident here... we just have to keep playing consistent basketball and keep improving as we go along... i do think we can take that 6 seed and really give the Magic a run for their money

It may be tough for them because they are made up of a lot of Vets that may noit be able to keep up with this young team, but I am loving every minute of it ha.

I love the way they are playing... the defense is solid, the offense is too fast paced for other teams to keep up with and the overall play of each player is astonishing. Miller has complete control over the game and when hes out, Williams confuses the defense even more because they arent ready for him. All the pieces have been working together very nicely, but i still think to be a true championship contender next year the Sixers just need maybe ONE more player. At this point i really dont know what position they need that player to be... either PF or SG... what do you guys think?

I don't think anyone will disagree tmontana1999 that it's highly unlikely that the Sixers can beat either the Celtics or Pistons in a seven game series come playoff time. But you're right, the blueprint has been laid out. I don't think there has been much talk yet of where the Sixers will go with the offseason (when you're season is shaping up like this, not too many people want to talk about the offseason quite yet) but I have confidence in the new front office (ahh it's so refreshing to see Billy King on ESPN, knowing that he isn't instead somewhere plotting his next move on screwing up this team) and Mo to get the right guys.
I think the playoffs needs to be about getting experience as much as it needs to be about winning. Look, I don't think anyone REALLY believes the Sixers are going to be contenders to win the NBA Finals. I think most fans are hoping for them to get out of the first round and will be satisfied with that. But getting guys like Williams, Young and Carney that playoff experience is certainly something that will be useful for their further development as this team continues to progress. The Sixers need to do everything in their power to get the sixth seed so they can face the Magic (easily the weakest of the top four seeds...if only because Cleveland has Lebron) in the first round, because I think that not only do the Sixers have a good chance of beating the Magic and getting to the second round, but it will be helpful to the young guys' development. I'd prefer not to see them hit the brick wall I think is going to be the Detroit Pistons come playoff time.
Final note: looking forward to the Nuggets game tomorrow, should be a good one. And if anyone wants some great reading, I highly recommend this article.
AI will find a different team led by Miller
I loved AI as much as anyone, we all know he was (and still is) a beast, but I'm happy the team has gotten past the AI era and has built a new product founded on the concept of teamwork.

As long as the sixers can finish with the 5th or 6th seed I like their chances of moving to the 2nd round..
As for the offseason here are my hopes:
1 - resign AI2
2 - sign a shooter - the sixers are a horrible shooting team. this team can only score on fast breaks or in the paint... we need a shooting threat, preferably someone who can shoot 3's, but pretty much anyone that can pull up and hit a jumper will satisfy me
3 - upgrade at PF. I have liked what J Smith has done this year, but we could def use an upgrade at this position

Pripat - I agree it was nice to see Billy on ESPN
one thing we should not overlook though - while his contracts were terrible - his drafts were very good to great - Williams, Carney, Young, Iggy all very good young players all drafted by King in spots were there are no "sure shots" (anything below pick 6 is a crap shoot really)

It's nice to see that Billy King is getting some credit for what he did while he was in Philly. The young kids he has drafted are turning into nice players.
