	Well this sucks. 100 points plus the bonus points, $100,000 and suspending onsborne for 6 races is just too much. Thank god Roush is appealing it. Is it possible for part of a penility to be repeled? I still think carl can win this weekend though. Does anyone know who is replacing Osborne? -edwardsfan99

	keep dreaming edwards fan, 99.99% chance that this holds up .01 percent chance this thing gets reduced 0.00% chance this gets over turned. I mean this was really either A) blatant cheating that put edwards at risk or B) someone did not do their job and put on the oil cap and put edwards at risk. Rusty said he would have been ticked off at his crew chief if his crew chief put him in a car without an oil cap cause of all the smoke and crap that would have been blown in the cockpit of the car. Honestly... this punishment fits the crime because unlike the nationwide series, A) Edwards won, B) It was blatant cheating or a massive oversight. By the way I like edwards, I just am not upset about this cause it helps out Newman. ;-)

	When are these crew chiefs gonna learn? I mean is the juice really worth the squeeze? These guys continue to challenge NASCAR on the infractions and it the punishments are gonna start getting worse. Why do crews have such an issue with a level playing field? I just don't uderstand why they continue to cheat the system when they continue to get caught. Anyways edwardsfan99, the 3 person panel can do 3 things with the appeal. 1) do nothing and the penalties stand 2) reduce some of the penalty 3) overturn the entire ruling. In this case I don't see the outcome changing at all, unless the 99 team has information that hasn't been released.

	He gets penalized for a missing oil cap? I'm sure it has to do with more than just that, but, the people in nascar are gettting really strict.

	I would like to see something done about this penalty process. Lets have a guideline too so the fans know that this infraction is equal to this penalty. In my opinion this infraction is in no way equal to other infractions that have resulted in the same penalty such as the fuel additive incident last season.

	Can't Say I'm really surprised at all, for this type of penalty. While the Penalty seems sever it's been consistant. While no one has had this particular issue before NASCAR has not really seemed to care if it's the wing, the nose, or in this case the oil cap. If someone is doing something they deem unfairly advancing their ability. they are penalizing the team the same. What will be intersting is to see what Happens with Robby Gordon and if they do come down their reasoning for it.

	Chris Andrews will replace Osborne as interim Crew Chief.He will also have Robby Reiser at the helm with him, so I dont see Carl falling back in the pack at all.

	Everyone on this board has been hollaring for 2 to 3 years they want NASCAR to be consistent with their penalties and now that they are they are we are saying they need to use some judgement when handing down penalties. Mikey - I just remembered the 24 getting the rear end confiscated after winning Atlanta a few years ago. Remember when he couldn't do a burn out? Traction control was suspected but nothing ever was announced, that I saw. I know this wasn't the current car but di that get swept under the rug? Just wondering...bluejay
