Where is he?  I was at the Blues game against Columbus a couple of Sundays ago and Perron was terrific!  He's played very little since then.

This guy can put the puck in the net and he's a high effort guy.  I don't understand leaving Perron in the pressbox when the team continues to score one or two goals a night.  Come on, Andy Murray!

Free David Perron!

I'll second that! He is probably one of the most gifted players on the team. But at least its not like we are a team desperate for goals and wins or anything. We can afford to keep him outta the lineup and continue to play King and Hinote over him....Oh wait, no we can't! I personally think Murray has done a HORRIBLE job at handling this kid, and mostly at the expense of the team.

There is an interesting article on this whole situation in the Post Dispatch today. It gives a little insight into why Perron isn't playing as much. I don't agree with it the reasons at all but at least it's finally been addressed as to why a great young talent is sitting on the bench.

Yes, I read that article, and it did lend some insight into the situation.  Maybe there are certain things that Perron needs to learn about protocol, about doing things in a certain professional way.

Still, I can't help but think that Perron would be better learning these things while on the ice.  I just hope the Blues don't sour on this kid and deal him in the future for another grinder that can't shoot the puck in the ocean.

hey man i see the same thing. i saw in the paper that they just think he needs to slowly develop and should not play every game. Im not sure y but you are right..if they are going to scratch him three quarters of the time why have him at the level.?

exactly - perron should be on the 2nd line w/ tkachuk.  no doubt.  i like Andy Murray. but he coaches lines like its 1985.  the grinders gotta go.

right on waldo1324

at this point, what's the difference?  it would be nice to see janssen in the lineup also since we gave away out best dman for him...

i'd like to see murray put our best lines on the ice and not always playing the 'matchups'

Well i agree with you guys whole heartedly.  Perron is my favorite player on the Blues roster.  they have so much youth and they keep saying they dont want to ware them out in their first 2 years.  i just dont see why.  hopefully now with the playoffs almost impossible to reach they will start to put in somemore of our talanted youth.

once again. you watch any game and all game both kelly and federko give compliments to perron on how much heart he puts out, and his reckless abandon. Also, watch him and he seems to hitting the hell out of some guys...i love it!

go Blues!

Cardsfn, your comment made the connection that the Blues are becoming the Cardinals management. They sign Izturis who doesnt produce when they can use ryan full time. Also, LaRussa prefers a vet lineup. Andy Murray is looking the same way...not a good thing!!!

There is absolutely no logical reason that the young Blues should not be playing right now. With the way this season is winding down David Perron should be playing as much as possible. Andy Murray is a coach who refuses to play younger players and he might need to go. The future of this team is nothing but young players.

thanks miller-

the way i see it is this:

yes, you need veteran leadership

no, you cant play a full line of 20 yr olds

but for the love of the bluenote i hope Andy Murray sees how mad we are and thinks " hey i guess they will fire me if i dont get my sht straight and ditch the geezers and roll the youngsters!"

i think he does an admirable job and i see his biggest fear is to be held to blame for'not following the code'  ie not going with a bunch of old guys.  but lets face it- our team now is rookie powered.  Andy was trying to put together an 08 vette with pieces from an 87 cutlass.

stempniak/stasny- Perron - Boyes? mcdonald - kariya- backes/stasny?

thats some young flavor that could be tasty.

go Blues

go cards
