Well, our offensive line is pretty well set for the near future. If NFL.com knows what they're talking about Snee will be locked up through 2014 and will be one of the top 5 highest paid guards in the game.

Thoughts? I though it was an important player to get signed and am very happy they got it done. The power running game should continue to thrive behind him. Lets just hope he lives up to that top 5 at the position money.

Alright! Goes to show you, if shut and do your job, then good things will come to you. Are you listening, Plaxico?

I saw this on Rotoworld this morning....Great news!  This is one of the key signings I wanted to see.  If Chris Snee hit the open market next year it could have been disasterous.  He is a highly underrated player who should have made several probowls by now.  If he doesn't make it this year I'm going to shank someone.

FIrst of all for everyone that is taking shots at Plaxico Burress the guy is one of the top 10 receivers in the league and getting paid like he is a number two receiver. The guy is going to 31 when the season starts and he is putting up pro bowl numbers. He put his time in and he feels this is going to be his last deal before retirement in 5-6 years. I totally agree with him. The way the Giants setup the contract was if he was a bust then it wont hurt them financially. He is not a bust so pay the guy. You dont linger around your star players. Truth be told he is not replaceable at this time.  The same thing happen with T.O with the Eagles. Now looking back at the situation from a football move which one was the smarter move the Eagles letting him go or the Cowboys paying him fair market value. That move hindered the Eagles and McNabb because he lost his playmaker. I say pay the guy and lock him up.

As for the Snee deal this is a great sign for Eli Manning. The offensive line is set. Eli has the protection. The Giants are set at running back with Brandon Jacobs, Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward. I think the Giants will work something out with Jacobs and worst come to worst we can give him a high tender since he will be a restricted free agent. With the receivers that the GIants have these young guys are looking to fill that hole when Amani Toomer leaves. Mario Manningham and Steve Smith are the two to watch with Steve Smith being the frontrunner. Jeremy Shockey situation will settle it self out with time. I dont see this situation getting any uglier then it already has. I just hope Shockey can continue to play at a high level. I cant wait until training camp to see the battles begin.

I goota agree with ya on this on DannyO, players should take note on how to approach renegotiations as did Snee. I only heard one comment on this subject, Snne was just kind of a matter of fact about the situation, sayin " when the time comes we will talk about it and get it done, no worries on my part". or something to that.

Here he is with one more year on his contract, and not pressing the issue. Then you have Plaxico with three years remaining and wanting a new contract, give me a frigging break Plaxico. Maybe we will wrap you up in a nice little package and get rid of you with Jeremy Shockey........

This is why the NFL needs some sort of salary cap, especially on rookies, you get paid for tenure in the NFL with some performance benefits.
