I dont follow college ball that much, did we as a team get anybody that might make an impact on our team next year or two, also did we find any hidden gems out there in the later rounds.

We drafted Joshua Fields, who is a closer is college. And as history has shown us college closers make it to the big leagues reletivley quickly. Take Husten Street for instance I think he made it up the same year he was drafted. And Fields has a 98 mph fastball from what I have heard. So look for him to be up by the beginning of next year if not sooner.

I have been watching Fields in the College World Series and if the game get to the 8th and Georgia are leading the commentators immediately say game over as Fields will close the game out. He has two very dominant pitches; a great fastball and a nasty slider (i think that's what it is), if he could learn and develop a change-up he will be a great closer in the big leagues for years to come.

The only question is was he the type of player we needed? Maybe a left-handed bat or a starting pitcher might have suited us better as we currently have a dominant closer (when healthy) in Putz. Starting pitchers can be used in the pen to give the a bit of exprerience anyway (like Morrow is now).

Morrow should be in the minors right now, after his spasms are over of course..cause as soon as the CWS is over Fields will be making 1 or 2 stints in the minors then come in, the dude is major league ready now..in the pen you need 1 dominate pitch and 1 effective pitch..as Morrow has shown us and he is ready just as Linecum was going to the Giants right after the season concluded but they decided they wanted him as a starter which they drafed for, so they were actually the smarter of the 2 organizations

I was just saying if he had a 3rd pitch he would be unstoppable.

Explain to me why Morrow should be in the minors?  I just don't get that at all??

Yes Wazzufan, please enlighten us to the meaning of your 'stream of consciousness' rant...It's extremely hard to decipher your period-free, comma-free, style...

Do you really think  Morrow should go to the minors: is it to develop another pitch, or to rehab his back, or to get some starts as a starter?   Or do you think he should merely be replaced on the roster by Fields...cause if you do...that's just stupid...Fields is good, but he hasn't faced a single MLB hitter...he has to EARN a spot
