I'm getting very tired of hearing about the supposed turmoil in the program.  Some assistant coaches left...BIG DEAL!  Can you name any assistant coaches on any other college program?  I can't.  They're replaceable, and Lute is already doing a good job replacing them.  How many HEAD coaches leave other programs every offseason?  We've had the same one for decades!

I'm afraid all the negative talk is going to create a sell-fulfilling prophecy.  No "downward spiral" exists, but if the media keeps insisting it does, recruits are going to ask out, Budinger is going to leave, and the program will fall apart.  I think the ship will be righted once the season starts and we win 20 games and make the NCAA tournament yet again, but that can only happen if things don't fall apart in the meantime.

May fans are blinded by where they think the  U of A program is....  a note from the past:

<table width="800" class="mcct_container"> <tbody> <tr class="mcct_header"> <td> February 10, 2008 5:18 pm Score: 91 </td> </tr> <tr class="mcct_body" valign="top"> <td> Nope not the right synergy for the program - just because a person was a part of the program in the past does not mean that he has the skill set to bring this program to the next level.  The program needed to improve since 1998.....  let's stop thinking we were the best damn team in the nation -  what steps have we taken to ensure the future of AZ BBall as a premier program?  If history serves us correctly the downward spiral continues.... not rock bottom yet, but we have plenty of time before the "Lindsay Effect"  hits.....  Not too sure who thought that KO was the reason for the 2008 season, but I for one would rather see a coach who has the skill set to build this program (Bayless more or less will be gone next season - that kid is already playing at the next level - brace your self for a few recruits to look who is here and say.....  not for me I pass - in a literal sense as well!) </td> </tr> </tbody> </table>
