I would like to see us pick up Brandon Rush from KU.  He is a 6-6, 210 guard that can play quality perimiter defense and hit the 3.  He should be around at the end of the 1st round.  In a year or two, he may be able to D-up on Deron and Kobe and other big guards that give us matchup trouble.

Did anyone see that 69 underclassmen declared for the draft.  The agents strike again.  Can't these players do math?  Only about 40 draftees actually make pro sqauds.  The rest go to Europe of the NBADL.  Can you say, "Welcome to Sioux ".

knowing morey i could see us trading this pick since we are in a win now mode. Im sure we can use the pick to pick up another wing player or even maybe another C to help Yao out but with the guys we have in Landry , Scola , Mutumbo , and Hayes they can help Yao out just fine. I see us trading the pick for a proven wing player to help McGrady and Battier out.

I'm not sure we can get a proven wing player for a pick this late in the round.   What caliber of player were you thinking?

I kinda agree with you HitEmHard, I think we will trade the pick but I think Rockets fans are going to be mad when we do because not only will Luther Head be going with the pick so will either Carl Landry or Luis Scola.  For some reason I just think we will keep Chuck Hayes and one of those two.  We have to many PFs.  If I am right in my guess I hope we keep Landry, he is more athletic and he is younger but I will be happy with Scola to.

On another note it so sad that we played so hard to get into the playoffs with a Yao Ming 'less team and were one of the poorest playoff performers and we get stuck with the 25th pick, hopefully Yao will be at 100% next year because that would be like having a #1 pick over again to go with T-Mac.  I don't really think that we will have anyone on our roster next year picked up in this draft.  Round 1 will be traded and the round 2 pick will be in the D-league.

i dont think Landry or Scola would be traded. There was a rumor out there that The Grizzlies wanted Scola for Mike Miller and the Rockets turned it down quick. Since our coad is Rick Adelman and he is an offensive minded coach IMO i think Hayes will be the one 2 go out of all of them. He will be a huge lost cause of his hustle plays and rebounding but he is just 2 short at 6'6.  As for trading the pick I agree that maybe Luther Head would be part of a deal but I think the only way we trade the pick is if someone we target is not on the board.

I also like Brandon Rush and CDR but the way they played in the Final 4 they will probably be long gone. I wouldn't mind the Rockets talking to Phila about Rodney Carney. He doesnt play that much but with us he can be a great addition. I watched him play when he was on Memphis and this guys is an athletic freak. Maybe giving up a 1st round pick for him is 2 much but for him to be with us that would be good. Also i have a strange feeling that Gerald Green will be back with us soon tor Training Camp. I believe the timing we traded for him was just bad timing. Now if we sign him 2 play in the summer league ( if thats even possible ) i think we would learn alot  about him.

What is everybodys thoughts on Bill Walker from Kansas State. He is about 6'6, 220 pounds or so, and is just an athletic monster. Last season, he didn't play 100% because of the ACL injury he suffered the year before, but he was a guy that was highly touted for his abilities coming out of High School.

He is country strong, and can provide many highlight reel dunks. Another plus for him is that he plays the game with a lot of passion and intensity, sometimes too much. One area of concern is his jump shooting. He can be deadly at times, but can also miss just about every shot he takes (had a 1-14 night against UT).

Overall, I think that he is a good prospect, especially for teams that pick in the later rounds. He was once viewed as a top ten prospect, but knee injuries curtailed his progress. As long as a team brings him along slowly, then he will be a good player for many years. When he is focused he can be a great player (as evidenced by his play against USC in the NCAA tournament).

Thoughts?

2 me bill walker is not the guy we need. He wasnt consistent in Kansas State to me. When watching some of their games the only player that stepped up was Beasley. When Beasley was in foul trouble a couple of times the offense struggled. The only time i can really remember hearing about Bill Walker was one time. I think I would pass on him. If a wing player is not available at the time we pick i think IMO we need to pick up the phones and start dialing to see what we can get....I really like Rodney Carney from Phila but i know thats a long shot but anything can happen
