Are you sure you have been watching Tom Brady play the game of football?  Sorry, but this comment is laughable! Thanks for the laugh though, cause I sure needed it.

Redawn smack talking!   I love it!!!    :)

:)

Cheers!

2002 brady leads the league in touchdowns with 28 his 2nd year starting, 2005 he carries the team on his back with no running game a beaten up offensive line,an injured David Givens and a depleted defense he leads the league in passing yards with 4110, 2006 despite throwing to Reche Caldwell & Doug Gabriel he still managed to break 3500 and 24touchdowns and got them to the afc championship. and in 2007 he breaks the touchdown record as you all already know. doesn't sound a too bad of a career does it? thats without mentioning a single superbowl mind you. a Packers fan saying a quarterback only won because of a good team? that's funny say desmond howard never makes it into the NFL. Drew Bledsoe starts looking like a much better quarterback and a certain quarterback is now portrayed as a choker rather than a best of all time.

Hey, I've got one little thing that might make a difference.  Anyone care to mention the fact that all of them are from DIFFERENT ERAS OF FOOTBALL?  I'm sorry, but I don't see how you can compare them when they all played in different times.  Brady's first season was Aikman's last season, and that's when Troy had been knocked unconscious so many times he didn't even know what day it was.  You just can't compare and as the starter of this thread put it "settle this once and for all" if they all played in different times.  The game has evolved so much during each decade that you can't compare them with statistics.

Tom Brady is overrated! Brady didn't win the Super Bowl on his own like you guys are saying. It was more of his teams defense then him. I mean in 2006 he had 24 TD's to 12 interceptions!!!! You guys weren't on here then saying he is one of the best! Like I keep saying, Tom Brady is just on a great team, any other QB in the NFL could come fill his position and the Patriots would still make the playoffs, hints why he shouldn't have won the MVP award.

Shouldn't we be comparing Randy Moss to Michael Irvin instead?  Or how about the Patriots pro bowl offensive linemen against the Cowboys pro bowl offensive linemen?  That would seem more meaningful.

As for the stats, is it just me or are the statistics of EVERY QB in the past few years better in comparison to guys' from previous eras?  Seven different QBs broke the 4,000 yard passing mark this season, with another less than 40 yards below it.  Four QBs threw for 30 or more TDs, while 10 threw for 25 or more.  Three different QBs broke the 100 mark in QB rating, while eight broke the 90 QB rating mark.  It's simply easier to pass these days than before.  Any comparison that doesn't account for that is pointless.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that in both the years (prior to 2007) that Tom Brady led the league in a major passing statistic, the numbers of his rivals were unusually low?  Just the year before he led the league in TD passes, three QBs topped 28 TD passes, and the year after three QBs did.  The year before he led in passing yards, three QBs topped 4110 yards, and four QBs did the year after.

If you want to go that route, can't you make the same argument about every other quarterback?  Peyton Manning led the league in yards in 2003 with 4,267.  The following year, he threw for over 4,500 and didn't lead the league.  The year before, he threw for 4,200 and didn't lead the league.  In 2006, Manning led the league with 31 touchdowns.  The year before, that number wouldn't have led the league.  This year, that obviously wouldn't have been good enough (he threw 31 this year and was FOURTH).

Sure, it's a slight bit of a more stretch for Manning than Brady, but why not?

And why doesn't Peyton Manning just have a good offence? and why is brett favre so great if he played so crappy when his team was no good. i believe they voted him mvp for a reason his game aginst the Panthers was one of the best ever in a superbowl. it's kinda ironic you say brady only threw 24touchdowns that year because that same season, Drew Brees threw "only" 26 throwing to Joe Horn and maques colston who i believe are up and beyond better than caldwell and gabriel also brett favre threw only 24 also throwing to Donald Driver & greg gennings.
