the Mets used to be the blue collar team of new york...

they were gritty... never give up attitude always persevere etc

now they are turning into a white collared proffesionalism type team... they are a wannabe Yankees team...

I say pick up a veteran that wasnt signed at all this year with pretty good leadership who is a charlie hustle type player...

ditch willie

keep peterson and alomar

and then get bobby v

buck showalter

and wally backman in here

these three guys can straighten out this team...

one thing i noticed this team does not look like they are having fun... they need to relax and start enjoying the game again...

those three guys can do that and light a fire under their ass when needed...

The 86 Mets were not a team of gentleman and Fred Wilpon will never field a team like that again.

thats exactly my point... thats why they were so good... they were cocky... over confident... and down right mean...

i would love for this Mets team to resemble them in the future

thats why they were so good... they were cocky... over confident... and down right mean...They were mean because they were all HIGH on Cocaine and/or Crack. That's why players starting sliding head first, so they wouldn't break their pipes.
