Well like i said I would be here win or lose. So here I am.

I didnt get to see the game past 2-0 because i had a game myself. I am guessing i did not miss much.

I said from the beginning i was not impressed with the way the Pens were playing because in all honesty i thought the games would be more like this evenings were. Well the Pens finally showed up and the Flyers (i guess) had a bad game as well.

Hats off to the pens. No excuses here they are the better team and the Flyers had some obstacles they just couldn't overcome. Id love to see the stanley cup in the Atlantic division but with the family feud (dad is a pens fan) i just couldnt stand the things he will say for years to come till the Flyers win.

I think a lot of you Penguins fans were misunderstanding the way the Flyers fans were reacting after 1 win. You have to understand that we were just happy not to be swept and of course we are going to root for our team to win in 7 if not we wouldn't be true fans. It gave us something to be happy about after losing the first 3. Im sure like most Flyers fans we knew that there was a very slim chance for us to do much of anything. But you cant blame us for being true to our team and hoping for a miracle.

I have to give my hats off to the Flyers however, they played one hell of a season. After being the worst team in the NHL i could not ask for anything more from this team. Obviously it hurts to lose but we have to look at the big picture and see how we fought all the odds and managed to make it that far. So way to go Flyers, i am a proud fan. With the core intact for next year, the Flyers should be a contender once again.

So go ahead and take your free shots, i'm not going to run and hide anywhere.

As a fan of neither team I was disappointed in the series.  I was hoping for a longer struggle between two rivals but Philly just never got it going.  The Pens got a few soft goals (off the skate, goalie with no stick) early on today and that seemed to kill any momentum Philly would have had from game 4.

Be proud of your team Legion.  They got further than most people thought they would.  There were a few soft goals, and a big disallowed goal that could have swung some momentum.  But the Penguins just had it today and the Flyers did not.  I think there is a lot to look forward to for next year.  And hopefully my Bruins will be right there fighting with the Flyers for the East.

Not sure if I understand what you said about the Pens and this series, but that's over and done.  Not here to start an argument.

Flyers had a good season and playoffs.  Alot to build on.....which I'm sure will be discussed here soon enough.

Hope you have a good and quick off-season Legion, and guess I'll see you around here...

Way to go!!  I truely respect you for showing up.  I don't write a lot but I read everything and wondered if I would see you after the loss.  People (Fans) like you can express anything they want im my book as long as you are going to be there to take it in the end too.  Good luck next year, I hope we (Pens vs Flyers) meet again in the finals.

great post legion, as a die hard Flyers fan i also shared the same point of view. in my heart i knew it was almost impossible to win the series but i watched every second and cheered my ass off to the end. im really looking forward to next year and think that the flyers are going to make moves in the off season because i have confidence in holmgren (executive of the year). lets go flyers

Flyers 08-09

Yeah sometimes its tough to take and I don't care how far behind you are as a fan there is always hope and I don't care how far ahead you are you are always nervous and its great to get that fourth win. I know only two teams have lost with a 3 game lead but you definitely dont want the mo moving in the other direction such as Det is facing now , there will be a third team to lose a 3 game lead at some point. I'm happy the pens are moving on we will see you next year i'm sure.

Legion,

Just wanted to say thanks for the website on the other thread.  This really gives me a good look at things.  I didn't take a real good look at it yet, but I am guessing you have, and I trust your assesment.  Also, wanted to say classy post, and congratulate your team on a great year.  That was one hell of a turnaround.

As far as Detroit goes, I guess we can discuss that once they get in.  If everyone feels as though the West is that much stronger I would politely begin to disagree.  It may have been but the East appears to have the younger talent and the bigger Stars, that are only going to get better.  Chicago has a ton of young talent in the West and I think they can be another Pens team that really turns it around in a year or two, just by their young guys playing together and beginning to gel.  The West has a lot of older veteran superstars, but how much longer are these guys going to last, that's the question.  Regardless, if Detroit gets in, the ratings for the cup finals should be awesome, which will be great for the sport in general.  We can discuss who's going to win when we know who's playing.
