Letsgopens,
Since nobody else is talking hockey i think ill take the time to with you.
I dont really agree with Fleury being MVP. Granted he has done what he needs to do but in no game has he had to stand on his head time after time. I did not get to see the game today so everything i mention does not included todays game. Biron won several games by himself...thats what an MVP does. Will he get it? no. Should he get it? No. There are too many other stud players out there that will. Crosby, Malkin, Zetterberg, Datsyuk and even Turco possibly.
Like i said, Fleury did not need to win any games for the Pens. The Pens won their games with their firepower and tight D. I hate to say it but the numbers for Fleury are not really the true story. IMO. I think Fleury was tested for 1-2 periods by the Flyers and he gives up too many rebounds. Flyers found that weakness in game 4 and converted on 2 goals that he gave up juicy rebounds on. I think Fleury is a long shot for the MVP. In my eyes he just has not been tested, and large part of that is due to the exceptional play of the Pens D. So Fleury is doing what he needs to do, but the MVP goes to the player that helps his team the most. I think Conklin would have similar numbers if he was in net. Just a solid D game the Pens are playing.
Just my thoughts on that though.

Letsgopens...THANK YOU!!! An actual 'hockey fan' post coming from Pitt! The Flyers were flat for much of the series, not sure why but they didn't have that hunger they showed in the 1st 2 rounds! I have to credit the Pens with their ability to contain the Flyer forwards...and a decimated DEF for my boys didnt help (although not an excuse).
Fleury was impressive today and every time the Flyers looked like they 'might' make a run he would thwart their hopes with some amazing saves. You guys have a great team but the East is tough so you better take full advantage this year...
And hopefully some of the Flyers fans will come around and support the Pens. I admit the ONLY reason that I have is because of your GM Ray Shero, the son of the winningest coach in Flyers history who led us to 2 straight cups! We'll never forget Freddy, the greatest coach in Philly sports history if you ask me...

Sorry, but yins are a bunch of backward hicks who got nonthin' bet'r ta do out yonder!!! Yins, whatever the hell that means, are clueless and will get smoked by Detroit. I just put a pack of bick razors in the mail so Cindy can shave off that peach fuzz on her face. Probably won't have to shave for another few months. She looks ridiculous with that crap on her face. Yins come out of the woodwork to talk crap, but half of you wouldn't even know who the Penguins were if they didn't do well this year. Please, you guys live in a 3rd tier city. Yins guys wouldn't know what hit you, if you came to a real city. I will be sure to stop when passing through and to bring my 6 pack of Pabst and my hunting rifle for my stay!!

Wow so let me get this straight, Philly fans have no class for celebrating a win, but you are amazingly classy for finishing your post "Philly will always suck...hahahahaha"...you must be the biggest moron I've encountered in my entire life. In true Billy Madison form "Everyone in the room is now dumber for you having said that. May God have mercy on your soul"

Well, after all I did say "arguably". I will not deny that he is helped by numerous blocked shots and an offense that can score with few chances, but he has made big saves when he needed to in these playoffs (minus the Ottawa series, W-B/S would have gave them a series). Despite giving up three goals, after that he is the only reason Pittsburgh had a chance to sweep in game 4. Turco has been better I believe, but that would be silenced if they don't make it. Malkin was a stud in round 2, but scored for the first time this series since game 1, i believe. Crosby has been a good set up, but most of these points are coming from their deadly power-play. For Pittsburgh, Fleury has been the most consistent. Being a fan during the "dead" years, Fleury has vastly improved his rebound control, although I still throw up a little when he tries to play the puck. He still seems a little timid when trying to decide what to with it. He also has much improved positioning, not flopping down on every shot, like many butterfly's tend to do. Not that it's a basis, but every MVP goaltender has that one highlight reel save, and the one where he stoned Briere was one of the best this postseason (I'm sorry, but no one is touching Nabakov).
I mean....inbred redneck jargon....Philly sucks...Nady Light...sheep....yinz....inbred redneck jargon

letzgoND....After reading your rant, I think that 6 pack of Pabst may be empty. And the "BIC" and Cindy comment were clever. Where did you get that from? The CLEVER SCHOOL OF CLEVERNESS?

You know, I had it in my mind to come to this board and congratulate the Pens on the series victory. At this point in time, they are a better team and one that is playing with confidence and precise execution of a game plan, which combined with scary talent means scary res | |
