Don't be baited by the original poster. I will admit, Philly is notorious for it's fans for better or worse, but as someone said, you'll have them in any fanbase, especially in the 5th or 6th largest city in the country. Any fanbase is going to have its jerks and bandwagoners, it's really hard to quantify which place has the most. I'm amazed at the Flyers turnaround, but I didn't think they needed too many changes. I saw last year a combination of injuries, underperforming and bad goaltending by the Flyers. That was pretty much a 180 this year, with the exception of injuries and that nearly ended the Flyers chance at even making the playoffs.
On the other side, Ray Shero has done a great job in the 2 years he's been in Pittsburgh. He reminds me of Craig Patrick in his early years, I just hope he doesn't start acting like Patrick in his later years blowing money on the likes of John LeClair and Ziggy Palffy So far, I don't think he's made a bad acquisition between getting Roberts and Laraque last year and Hossa, Dupuis and Gill this year. Hopefully the Pens negotiate well and can keep most of its core together, I'm hoping the cap goes up a decent amount this year. I don't think they'll be able to keep Hossa, but I think they've got a good chance at keeping most of the key players in tact. I don't think the Pens will be another Tampa Bay because they are well aware of the cap. The Lightning, unfortunately, had to go from a cap free environment to a hard cap and that boned them big time.
