one of the questions that has been floating around this season is should Billy Beane trade Harden or not. I think he should and I think the bravos should go for him. lol
Hey it has worked rather well with huddy and I heard that Harden hasn't lost on the road since 2005. that's CRAZY!!!
Hudson, Harden, Jurrjens; that's a niiice 1-2-3 for the years to come.
The Braves should go for Harden this season. The salary will drop at end of season with Glavine retiring.
Beware...the Yankees, Mets, and other high value teams will go after Harden for this years pennant race.
The A's are not expected to make the post season this year.
After all, who can catch the Angels?
Harden has been a very solid starter when healthy. Six trips to the DL in 2 years makes him seem like a Hampton style risk. Billy Beane never gives away talent either. Oakland always seems to exact a fair or better price in return. I don't see this one happening.
I've always though that Rich Harden was a terrific pitcher. He has amazing stuff and is a true ace..................when healthy.
The only thing is how much do you want to give up for a guy who could turn into the next Mike Hampton. He just can't seem to stay healthy for any considerable length of time.
I would personally love to see him as part of the Braves rotation next year, but not for too high of a price.
Hudson, Harden, Jurrjens; that's a niiice 1-2-3 for the years to come.
what about Hudson, Harden, Jurrjens, and Jo-Jo Reyes........thats a good 1-2-3-4 for years to come as well
all my friends were dogging me last year and earlier this year because i love the way this kid looks, he just has to develop a little. When he got called up they were like 'oh my lord' when i was jumping out of my seat. He has looked better this year and i believe he will continue to get better and develop into a nice 3 or 4 slot pitcher for us
sorry saints, but i'm still not sold on Jo Jo. thus i'm not eating your words.. yet
I dunno but there is something about him i don't like. very Chuck James-ish. Like maybe he'll have a good year or so but then he'll fall off the table and may not find it again. HOpefully not though. I've yet to really be impressed by Jo Jo.
i understand BC but its not that i am impressed so much with what he has done so far, i am just anxious to see what lies ahead for him
i am not saying you are wrong, but i feel like reyes has way more upside than james. I was never a Chuck James fan and am actually impressed that he put up the numbers he has but i just have a feeling reyes will prove to be a good pitcher. I am not saying he is gonna be an ace but he can definitely fill in at a 3 or 4 spot. he has a 4.12 ERA (i think) right now which is not all that bad for a back end starter.
if he would quit walking so many dang people he would look a lot better but i believe his command will come with more experience
like i said, i am not saying he is awesome but i believe with some more playing time he could become valuable at the back end of our rotation. I have always loved pitchers that throw mid 90s from the left side and he is constantly 92 - 93
Sorry guys, Jo Jo should not be compared to Chuck James. Jo Jo has very good pitches and has learned how to use them effectively. Look at yesterday. Even when he had the bases loaded and no one out he stayed with his game plan and continued to mix up his pitches. James, in that same situation, would have plated several runs the Braves would probably have lost. Jo Jo is much better. He has a very effective change up that will only get better when he can locate it like Glavine used to.
Nice trade!! LOL What about giving them the Hawks in that trade!! You want to give crap for gold!!
Before I even get into this, let me say this, I respectfully dissagree with the aformentioned trade. The Braves would probably have to throw in one of their starting pitching prospects.
But did you just call Brent Lillibridge crap?!? Seriously, the kid is GOOD. Are you judging him off of his 2 game stint in the MLB?
Sweet! Though I might also put in that with our team playing the way it has late Harden would probably lose that streak although he would make a phenomenal replacement for Smoltz (out till probably June and then when he comes back he'll be our closer in case somebody doesn't know that) So that would make our rotation something like:
Hudson
Harden
Jurrjens
Glavine
Reyes
with Smoltz closing which we all know he's great at! Lets keep our fingers crossed!
And while I agree that he isn't crap I'm not sold on him yet. I think that we should give him a couple of no pressure starts to see how he does in a more relaxed situation.
funnt how the Mets fan start talking crap before the Braves - mets series but then are nowhere to be found after we sweep them in the twin bill to open the series
i know my opinion is biased but the mets don't look real good right now
