Good morning and welcome to Spits PICKS Sunday May 18th, 2008
It's a beautiful day here, with birds a chirping, blue skies and sunshine. And with a cup of Joe at my side, it's time to get this day started here.
Yesterday was a good day for baseball, as we continue the trend of picking over/under games with SPITS. The stats have been building since opening day, and on or around mid May I normally start playing some ML and RL games as well.
While Vegas tends to put a number out based upon the starting pitcher, SPITS is able to determine that the starting pitcher TOTAL isn't where the stats and research are of the most value, but rather the closing staff on any given team. As such, the OVER and the UNDERS in my opinion occur during the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings. Or during extra innings.
Anyway, I'll have a handful of MLB games today, as well as the NBA Game 7 which tips at 3:30 EST today. Boston has been untouchable at home, but that +8 number sure does look enticing doesn't it? I'd suggest the ML looks even more enticing at +350. Is anyone crazy enough to think that Sir James can play his brains out today, and Cleveland win this game outright? If so, maybe you play a dime, and get back 35 cents?
Ah, don't you love it!
Also have the close-out game in Pittsburgh at 3:05
The Penquins will try and end this series at home, and I have to like their chances. ML on that one is -260 at the moment, and 1.5 goals., total 5.5

Let's hope so. Lot's of juice on those MLB picks, but worth it in my eyes, and according to SPITS. And after the 6 MLB picks, I took the easy way out with Boston..numbers don't normally fib, and I've got this game going to Boston by the large 8 spot.

It's amazing how two teams in baseball today have over 22 hits, and late in the game only scored 5 runs?
Oakland and Atlanta have done just that.
That my friends is why they call it gambling.
And why it makes little sense to 'load' up on any game in any sport.
Other games in the MLB have total hits in the game of 7, and 6 runs to show for it..so you just never know how or when the cookie is going to crumble, and I suspect that is why we love this gaming thing so much. Love it!
GL to all tonight. Going to out to dinner for the next several hours, but hope to catch up with you around 9:00 EST to see how the games played out. NBA underway with Boston holding a slight edge...up around 5 in the 2nd QTR
