GenieCarb, I dont think you know that much about the SEC if you can say theat SC wont be a quality win. UTn and Alabama are playing on the same level as SC. Dont just buy into the name. Watch some SEC games before you say that. I hope you still remember when we thought we would wax them in the first outback bowl and thought if we had another shot we'd kill them and look what happened. USC is a very tough opponent and UGA UF and UT should think of them as a quality win during the gauntlet of games week after week in the SEC.

Man, i have read some crazy posts on this thread. Folks saying this, folks saying that, it really is quite incredible. How any one knows how "cocky" the Dawgs are, must be privy to some information no one else knows about because I haven't read, seen or heard of any of the Bulldog players say or do anything to be able to insinuate such. Now, as for some of the fans.... I see it on this thread alone in the fact that many new Dawg fans seem to be coming out of the proverbial Dawghouse and making some pretty outlandish statements , that to me, read ridiculous. I hope some folks on both sides take of the over-the-top homer glasses and try to be a bit more intelligent with their statements because some of them are quite simply embarrassing to this Dawg fan. God bless each of you, but damn, lets get real.

As for the Tennessee game, really no excuses, but to say UGA should have won that game is blind and simply acknowledging only the score, with total disregard of some other factors that probably came into play to cause such a beating. And for those calling Stafford a POS, basically.... well, I too, will wait and let this year be "judgement" year. As DRoss stated, UGA has a solid cast of players, in both the starting line up and as back ups, and are an extremely deep team with a balance of youth and veterans, but primarily youth. The team is coached by a man of Faith and can promise you, the kids that play for him and the rest of the coaching staff believe 100% in what is being taught to them and will listen to the guidance CMR is teaching them. UGA is not a team of individuals out doing everything they can to be about themselves and firmly believe that the Georgia Bulldogs are comprised of Team First, me last players and will leave it out on the field this upcoming year.

Will they win all their games? Who knows... it might happen. Could they lose three games? Hell yes! I will leave it with this final summarization, UGA is fielding ONE of their more talented teams in their history. The coaching staff is about as solid as it gets. Our first year OC(Mike Bobo) last year did a pretty amazing job once the three freshman starting O-line began to gel. Our defense really came together after our LB situation got stabilized after the Tennessee game. Not my words, these were CMR's words when asked to reflect on last year's season(from Rivals, too long ago to search and link... just trust me. And no, not an excuse for the loss.) Stafford began to control the offense when our freshman sensation began getting regular playing time and opened up the field for MS to beat teams who tried to jump the run. It is play action passing to a tee! This should continue with an arsenal which will include more offensive weapons and a defense that will be about as quick and deep as anyone in the country.

Time will tell.

Wow, sorry, but I guess this just had to come out..... again. Dang it! Who let me into the liquor cabinet.... BigDawg? ; )

NCBulldawg............ I have Georgia in the National Title game. When I first created this thread I read alot of posts from Georgia and Ohio State fans that were basically planning trips to the National Title game. The other day I read a post where a Georgia fan said the the Dawgs and USC were the "two best teams and noone was even close".

Florida had a bad year last year but still played Georgia and LSU "close".

Just a simple question of what makes these 2 teams head and shoulders better than the rest.

The one thing Georgia has going for them is their balance. They can run on just about anyone and couple that with a QB that can make any throw on the field, it can be quiet hard for a team to scout and defend. It takes smarts and discipline to play against the Dawgs. If teams come in too hyped up, Richt's conservative style and balanced attack will exploit flaws in just about any defense.

To answer your question Percy, these 2 teams aren't head and shoulders above anyone. Every Saturday is a different day and any team can show up at any time.

. UTn and Alabama are playing on the same level as SC.That is the dumbest thing I have ever read on the CBS board, on any any thread. SC has never even one the SEC east (UT did last year) let alone a SEC title. Dont ever compare UT with South Carolina that just proves your ignorant.

UGA has 3 obstacles to reach the Natl title game.

1. Brutal Schedule

2. Depth on OL

3. Breaking in a freshmen kicker.

UF has porbably the easiest road of any school in the SEC.They really only have 3 conference road games, considering that the UF/UGA game, they are the visiting team this year.

Depth at O-line is the least of UGA's worries.

3 obstacles for UGA

Beating UF twice in a row

Vandy

S. Carolina

I know it sounds weak, but Vandy and SC always get UGA fits and if they can beat the 3 mentioned, the chances of winning the East are very favorable.

I was just saying you guys dont have alot of depth @ that position, you cant afford a rash of injuries there. Dont forget the Vols, we've had UGA's # the last 2 years.

Depth at O-line is the least of UGA's worries.

3 obstacles for UGA

The reason I left off the Vols is because if we were to lose to the Vols, yet beat everyone else, I think we can jump ahead. Not the case last year, but hopefully next year.

Georgia is at least 2 deep at each oline position, and all have been coached to be innerchangable, so really we are like 8 deep at each position.

Georgia is at least 2 deep at each oline positionThe guy @ SI was talking about how depth @ OL would be a factor for UGA. I will take an UGA fans word over him, you are one of the more well informed fans on here.

Its amazing how many times SI and ESPN don't know what they are talking about.

Just because the o-line is young, doesn't mean there isn't depth.

I take it he just looked at the youth and made his uneducated conclusion about the depth.

UGA will lose a game or maybe even 2 this year because of their schedule.

However, the one issue that UGA will face this year, which has yet to be written, is that they CANNOT allow their one or two loses to be at the hand of a team out of the EAST, specifically FL and/or TN. The reason why I say this is because if GA is to go to the NC games with 1 lose. Then they must win the SEC. But if they lose to either TN or FL or even SC for that matter, then either lost could end up being as devastating as any other in UGA history. The last thing CMR want is to deal with a possible tie breaker for SEC East Title.

The flip side, if UGA lose from a team in the West, then an opportunity to play that same opponent in SECCG could strengthen their ranking/schedule; however, it’s not as appealing to beat the same team twice in one year; not to mention, its very difficult. Especially in the SEC

Last year, LSU made it to the big dance in-spite of their lost against KY (who everyone knew wouldn't be in SECCG, and Arkansas ; therefore, they didn't need the help of Al and Auburn to Atlanta . This is what UGA must avoid...losing to TN or FL. Even with one lost they might not reach the GA Dome. And I don't think they can make the NC Game without winning the SECCG in Dec.
