I can't believe that this isn't out here yet.  Has anybody else noticed? After the first two games, I felt a lean toward the Philly side.  The went to the Philly crowd after the few goals they had.  They seemed to discuss things guided toward what ever the Flyers did.  I almost thought Gov. Rendell was the producer for Versus Hockey.  I was fine with this until last night.  I was expecting the same treatment when in Philadelphia.

Last night was an outrage!!  You would have barely have known the Flyers were playing the Pens.  No cameras at a Pittsburgh bar.  It was "what was Philly needing to do to get back into it"..."what the Flyers we doing wrong"...analysis of every plausible detail related to the Flyers.

It was painful to watch, other than the Penguins winning again.  It was like they were told to keep the focus off the small market team, since Crosby, Malkin, Hossa, and Fleury all demand attention at any other time.

Is Versus based out of Philly?  Is the NHL taking note on how lobsided the announcing is, let alone how bad it is?  Has the same thing happened for Dallas/Detroit?

Time to have a voice about it.

I believe Vs is owned by comcast.  Comcast is headquartered in Philly.  Need I say more?  Truthfully, I don't what they say or where they do their reports from as long as the Pens win!

The only way to continue fan interest throughout nhl markets  when one team(is heavily favored, pens) and the other is a longshot,6th seed) is to somehow generate the positive in what is unfolding. When pens won both home ice games, this was the norm setting for a team who has proven their abilities. Flyers had to take one of the first games to create a series that might talk of an "upset" possibilty.  With 2 losses on road , the pressure was then on Flyers to win at home to offset. The 3 rd loss(home) will even further cause announcers to spend 75pct of air-time on how Flyers can make a comeback. This is normal broadcasting and all hockey fans know an 0-3  comeback has happened only twice in history, thus is not really a discussion.

Accept the fact your team is the better and "should" win a 7 game series, and enjoy the fact your in state- rival big-city philly is the underdog. That is what you should gloat upon and allow the network to justify interest in an 0-3 series and probable sweep. These short, late-round series are hurting the NHL actually. But ,not the fans of the winning sides!!!!!!

If Versus wants to be a player in sports broadcasting, they have to give equal time to each regardless of how it is going.  Say, this is what the Pens are doing right, compared to what Philly is doing wrong.  The way that the broadcaster have been going it seems like the Flyers were the favorite and they are giving the series away.

It has been one sided broadcasting which is wrong in the grand scheme of broadcast journalism.  They can still make the same observations but give equal time to Pittsburgh and its fans too.

If I was watching the first three games, it would seem like Pittsburgh fans don't care.  There were approximately 2000 fans last night sitting outside in front of the big screen at Mellon Arena.  This happens every night.  Do other people, from other cities, really know about it.

This is also supposed to be a showcase for the teams, the cities, and their fans...not a Tale of One City.

It actually sounded the same way on CBC, interestingly enough.

Give me a frikkin break.  I didn't hear any Pens fans bemoaning the fact that NBC never shuts up about all the good things the Pens do.  The last game of the season was awful.  The Flyers were outplaying the Pens, and all the announcers could talk about was Malkin's improving English!  Every game the Pens have played on NBC has been all Pens, all game long.  Very little mention of the team they were playing.  Now that the shoe's on the other foot, you're pissed off?  The Flyers have a block party for every playoff game, even away games, and I don't see cameras there all the time.

I hate to tell you, but VS is a looong way from "broadcast journalism".  They have zero intelligent broadcasters and even worse ice-level people.

If you want to hear what the Pens are doing right and the Flyers are doing wrong, shouldn't it be the other way around too?  I haven't once heard the broadcasters say anything about the Pens defense and their inability to clear the front of the net at times.  Which has led to several goals for the Flyers.  Or last night, when the announcers went on and on about what Downie could have done on the third goal, and said NOTHING about Malkin looking completely lost on the Flyers goal.

Yes the coverage of the Penguins Flyers games have sucked, also why did they waste game time with interviews that should have been done during intermission.  The Verses channel doesn't conduct an interview with a sportsman during a ELK HUNT or a TURKEY HUNT!  The camera angles were worse than a nearsighted Rabbi at a brisk. Ouch!

Are you Penguin fans really that insecure?

The league has shoved the Penguins and Crosby down everyone throats all season long, and as soon as another team gets a little attention you are going to cry like a little baby??

Time to put on the big boy pants and act like a hockey fan and not a soccer fan.
