????? The guy ran for over 100 yards with better than a 5 ypc rating in the first half. Good call.
Well I gotta be honest with you, I didn't watch that game because I thought Dallas would walk all over the Giants, at least, that's what Cowboys fans kept saying on these pages the days leading up to the game.

Because Marion Barber isn't LT.
Thanks for making our point, he doesn't deserve LT money. You could've stopped there, but......
but if you're going to keep going off topic
Who's getting off topic? This thread is about whether or not MB should get LT or MT money, you're insulting everyone from Chris Cooley to Jason Campbell and pounding your chest about a team who hasn't won a first round playoff game for over a decade.

I will cop out and say that he deserves somewhere in the middle...Is he as good as LT, no, but he is a top 5 running back. Though he backed up Jones the last couple of season, Barber was the better runner. Who is better than him.
my running back ratings..
1. LT
2. Peterson
3. Addai
4. Barber

If you're going to use your avatar to represent such a horrible team Beaver, atleast do it with someone who wants to be on your team.
Barber doesn't deserve LT money and as a Cowboys fan, it's not even a hard thing to say. Michael Turner can't hold Barber's jock though, so it just goes to show how jacked up the free agent market is.
As far as I'm concerned, he is one of the least important pieces of one of the best offenses in the league. I'd hate to see him go and I personally love his style, but fill in any half way decent back in that spot and they'll be successful. The Cowboys passing attack is BY FAR the best in the NFC and any back should be able to break off a few yards a game when defenses have so many other weapons to account for.
In my mind, it's Peterson, then LT, then Westbrook. Barber most definitely gets held in the same regard as Addai, Portis, Gore, Fred Taylor/MJD, etc. Anyone saying otherwise is ignorant or showing they're blind homers. And for those that say "but he only did it for one year.." shouldn't put Adrian Peterson in the top RBs in the league then. He certainly belongs, but he "only did it for one year."

No I said in every post I made in this thread he doesn't deserve LT money and isn't as good as LT. Bermy kept coming back about how Clinton Portis is so much better, and kept bringing up Portis (who had nothing to do with the thread). He then goes on to say LaRon Landry would erase him from the field. So if he wanted to compare Redskins and Cowboys to make the Cowboys look bad I figured I'd do the same. Read the posts before trying to voice your opinion please.

Well first off, LT money is not LT money anymore. The cap has gone up over 30 percent since LT signed that deal.
Marion Barber would be getting Shawn Alexander to Clinton Portis money.. Doesn't that sound a lot better??? In reality, LT money is 1/3 less than it was when LT signed.
You could say Marion Barber is going to ask for 20 million more than Emmitt Smith money, or 20 times what Walter Payton made to play the position too. But neither take into consideration the inflation of the NFL's cap.
Also, you can have as big of a contract as you want. But to get the biggest contract in the league, you have to be playing as the best RB in the league those last years. Otherwise, it is re-sign, or enjoy the waiver wire, because they aren't guaranteed.

Listen folks I agree that Peterson is one hell of a back, but he he has to prove consistency first. This is a common trait among all successfull professionals in any career. Look at these numbers to show you what I mean by being consistent. Peterson had a few huge games and was average more than half the season. Actually average is being nice. Take the top 6 games of each back and then look at the other 10 games:
Peterson:
6 best games: averaged 184 yards/gm and 10 td's
other 10 games: 50 yd/gm and 3 td's
Tomlinson:
6 best games: 162.5 and 12 td's
other 10 games: 97.4 and 6 tds
You got to bring it every game. You know when LT's gonna get his yards and scores game in and game out. Lets see peterson become more consistent. Lets see Peterson become a more complete back. I do not see Peterson ever catching 100 balls like LT did. OR block as he does.
1.Tomlinson
2.Peterson
3. Addai
4.larry Johnson
5.Westbrook
I look for Jackson, Lynch and gore to compete for the rushing title also.

Tomlinson the best period...What worries me about Peterson is the injuries. Addai, benefits from a great offense (imo he is a great back), Johnson-injuries-would not have him before Barber. Westbrook-stud in the passing game, not a great runner....Jackson-alright, Gore is good, but will be worn down because of a bad offense..

That is a stupid list... Saying Larry Johnson is better then Westbrook....
Westbrook should be 5th because he does so much for the Eagles offense.
