slandry,

I hope you're not surprised by the listless and banal arguments of the "believers". These are the same people that think the Noah's ark STORY was a fantastic piece of eye-witness reporting. Marriage is a sanctimonious, anti-human nature, frivolity. If homosexuals want in, then let them enjoy the same crap we heteros get fooled into. It just saddens me that religion still holds such a firm grip on our society in the 21st frickin' century. When will these ridiculous superstitions end?

Hi Savvy, we meet again.  For those of you on this post who don't know me as well as Savvy, I am a Christian.

I think all of us are given a "Cross to Bear", so to speak, some very obveous, some more so than others it seems.  Without trial in our lives, we would be incapable of truely appreciating the good times, in other words life would become a hopeless boring drudgery without bad times to make us thankfull for the good times.

To your point, regarding who are we to determine what is and isn't normal, God has done that for us.  Male and male cannot reproduce nor can female/female.  According to those who study such things, about 10% of the population is gay, personally I think thats overstated by a factor of 2 or 3.  Now if 33.3% were purely gay, 33.3% bi, and 33.3% purely hetrosexual, I would say being born gay is normal.  However many people who claim to have been born gay have become hetrosexual with therapy, you obveously have to want to change.  Some people are born with a propensity to become alcoholic, so long as they have no desire to change they will be an alcoholic, if they truely want to change they can and do, yes they are still alcoholics (recovering) but they lead otherwise normal lives, they just can never consume alcohol again.  How does one explain numerous gay people who have married a member of the opposite sex, fathered/birthed children, then after several years of by all appearances, a normal marriage, one spouce announces they are gay, much to the shock of the other.  If this individual was born gay, how are they able to become aroused by a member of the opposite sex?  Personally there is nothing another man could do to put me in that state.

BONG, RU off your meds, again???  Couldn't you leave me just one little left brain morsel to rant about? I like nothing better than pointing out hypocrisy to the hypocrits who are blind to their own arguments. U know, my mind's already made up, don't confuse me with facts!!! I'm so bummed out now, that I'm leaving. Nothing left to play with here.

Hey, BS. Were you able to roll Vista back to XP thru Microsoft? I thought I read about doing this in PC World in the Doc's office,  but I don't have a subscription and can't access articles on the website, either. HELP ME BEFORE I KILL (my laptop) AGAIN!!!!

Hey there GB.

Good pick up Brohm. That guy is going to be good. That's not to say that Rodgers won't be, I just don't know. (didn't mean to bring football into this)

Anyway, you are right there are several thousands of gay people right now who are married across the US (to straight people). That congressman who was trying to solicit sex in a men's room in the airport comes to mind, as does that Taggert fellow who was a leader of the young life church or something like that.

These guys aren't straight people who are choosing to be gay, they are gay people who are forcing themselves to act straight. And they are doing so with devestating affects. Imagine how those guys families feel. Being raised believing that homosexuality is a sin, and just plain wrong, only to find out that daddy is trying to meet guys in public toilets.

There have been no definitive studies that say that gayness is a genetic condition (yet), but listening to the gays themselves. They say that they were born that way. Straight people say that they weren't born that way, that it was a choice.

I'd have to believe the gays out of these two groups, because the straights lack perspective and authority.

rls:

Not First Amendment.  Choice.  Unless someone is holding a gun to your head, click to a different thread.  You absolutely don't "need to read about this topic".

So don't.

I consider myself pretty liberal, but I'm against gay marriage.  I'm probably a little old fashioned, but I think you have to draw the line somewhere.  I could probably live with civil unions.  Like I say, I'm pretty liberal and voting for Obama, but It's just my personal opinion.  We have to keep some morals in this country.  There are few left.

Dude, did you not see the topic of the post?

Recently, I've been starting threads asking how many wins your team is going to have. I started with Miami, and every three days added a team, or teams in the same order as their records. I just did it to help pass the time for a couple of months till football camps are going and there's something to read about.

I got about 2 or 3 replies on those.

This topic has gotten what like 4000 hits, I think people prefer to talk about social issues.
