What do you think?  The Cardinals got off to a fast start at 10 games over .500 (21-11), but have since got 3-8...have we been spoiled?  I think we need our starting pitchers back so that we can get Wellemeyer and Looper into the bullpen to stable it up.  Will it be a season like last year where we go 1 win and the 2 losses?  Are we going to rebound?

Wow, that is a tough question. I would like to think that we can rebound and pull it together. We have been getting runners on like crazy, last two games 12+ hits plus 4 or five walks, but we can not drive them in. You would figure that can not continue. Pitching might get a boost if some of the DL can come back. That might be too much to ask. I hope at least Mulder and Carp can come back at something close to what they were a few years ago but there is no guarantee.

This team can and will rebound. I don't think the Cardinals will win the division. The Cubs are as strong as they have been in a long long time. I do expect the Cards to fight and win the wild card this year. This is a young team that is learning on the fly. Troy Glaus is starting to come around and when he does he can carry a team much like the way Jim Edmonds used to. Any team that has Albert Pujols will contend and Rick Ankiel may just turn into a superstar after all. This team may not be as good as there first 30 games would indicate, but they are not as bad as thier last ten games have been.  Every year teams go into streaks. Almost everytime you have a losing streak it is followed shortly by a winning streak. So don't lose faith in this young, aggresive, and exciting team. They will come around very soon.

This team has holes which have been there all season.  They're becoming more obvious now that the squad is in a bit of a tailspin.

But........that's the beauty of having a future Hall of Famer as your manager.  Tony La Russa won't let this team even think about quitting.  The Cardinals will continue to have their ups and downs this season, but the overall product will remain worth watching.  Is this a playoff team?  Well, I would honestly have to say that no, it is not.  But, the fact is, we are halfway through May and are still very much in this thing.  No one is running away with anything.

We need to get our bullpen stabilized and start getting a few more key hits.  I think it's reasonable to think that both of these things can happen.  It then comes down to what it's come down to all along--the rotation's starting five have to collectively continue to do what they've been doing--no injuries, just solid work.  If that happens, it's quite reasonable to think that we'll be fighting for a playoff spot in September.

I like what the cards have to offer but i still think they are trying to find who they are , once they do I believe it will be for the best or worst this is  not a 500 ball ,
