It must be the off season because there is not a lot to talk about. Anyway, I just wasted 5 minutes of my life reading a Mel Kiper article and it got me thinking. Who is the biggest idiot announcer/columnist?

Geez,
There's so many to choose from. The one announcer that makes me nuts as a football announcer is TONY KORNHEISER being part of the Monday Nite Team! I can handle his ESPN Show with WILBON, but being on prime time as a football announcer just makes no sense to me. Bring back Jersey Joe Theisman ( I know I'm probably the only nut in the Universe who is actually a Theisman Fan)

I got one for you the whole FOX pre game show. You know before the game they make their picks and all pick the Giants to lose every game in the playoffs. Look stupid by saying the Giants have to play a perfect game just to hang with the Patriots. Steven A. Smith I give him credit with some stuff he say, I think what gets people about him is that he is cokiness. Mel Kiper is a idiot and Sean Salisbury is one to. I hate the fact that known of them gives a true opinion about anything they just hop on the bandwagon of winning teams. Remember this one Mario Williams should hae not been the top pick in the draft because Reggie Bush is clearly the best talent in the draft. They all said he is the next Gale Sayers and LT. He is nothing more then a overpaid third down back. I think they should get paid on what they predict to happen. Because then you will see alot of them being fired.

Let me add one more announcer that makes me crazy.....Baseball's Tim McCarver. I've never seen any announcer flaunt his technical knowledge of the game with more useless, esoteric, and boring information than him. "Nobody really cares that shaving the hairs from your throwing hand behind your mid knuckle joint on the ring finger will add .03629 increase in ball movement and decrease velocity on the change up by .5 percent. " Puts me right to sleep immediately!

1st off, I'm appauled that Screamin Stephen A. Smith is on this list. That guy is hysterical.
However, I am even way more appauled that JOE BUCK is not on this list. he is terrible and should be shot. End of story. Did you here him announce the Plax TD in the SB? Its like that TD didn't even matter. The only reason i get chills when i see that play is b/c of the play itself. His announcing is beyond terrible and he is one of the biggest d!-riders I have ever listened to.

Dude, I don't know what to say anymore. I'm sure your a great guy and a great fan, but due to the fact you actually like Theisman, means i don't know if I can take anything you say seriously. Again, no offense, but you just lost all of your credibility with me.

I knew I'd catch some KAKA from the board. Its just and old New Jersey High School football thing from back in the mid 60's when we played football together. I just always pull for the Homeboyz. I forgot about Joe Buck. I'm not realy big on Collinsowrth either. As a matter of fact, with the expection of the old NFL Primetime with Tom Jackson and Chris Berman I don't know that I really like any of them. I'm down with Madden too.

Sean Salisbury is definately the worst announcer. I can't stand Kiper or Skippy either but Salisbury has no idea what he's talking about. Before the Super Bowl, he appearently had no evidence that the Giants could stay with the Patriots. Keep in mind that this is AFTER the Week 17 game. I gues 38-35 isn't good enough for him.

yea i agree i hate Salisbury and Kiper too, all announcers dont know what they r talkin about these dayz, especially with Giants they give them no credit, no respect, no nothing. Yea when i first came on this board i was shocked to see Joe Buck wasnt there he is the biggest A-hole iv ever heard with "unanswered points"(i didnt know what they were talkin about but now i get wat it means and is a good thing but still i dont like the word. lol)he never talks about giants and when he does its allways bull crap.

no need to put stephen A that high I get annoyed by hiim sometimes but he is honest and speaks his mind with out a hidden agenda..
as far as the rest they all suck..
all fake @ss espn sportcenter guys ..the commercials suck never funny .
the espn guys are all white nerds with no sense of humor and the black ones like Stuart scott try to hard to be black with retarded catch phrases
I liked Kenny Mayne but he annoys me now..
Berman is Ok..

That is a good list you have there Hobo 379. And I agree with all the others who have posted. The one name I would like to add is Tommy Heinsohn who announces Celtic games. He is such a homer!! According to him the Celtics can do nothing wrong and the referees are always against them. I find myself watching Celtic games on T.V. with the sound turned off. As for Theismann he is a complete jerk. I met him once and he is one of the most arrogant and stuck up people I have ever met.

I think Bryant Gumble and Thiesman have to be the worst all time. John Madden and Pat summerall were the best (in my opinion). If they could clone them two and have them do all the games I'd be happy. After last season I also hate Troy Aikman doing Giants games. He was ALWAYS down on the Gmen. He would never give them any credit!
