When the Seahawks were run by Ken Bering and just stunk during the late 80s I became a fan of the high scoring Buffalo Bills. Yes they lost 4 but they won more games than anyone in all of the decade. Bruce Smith and Cornelius Bennett led an amazing D.Jim Kelly and thurman Thomas were steller week in and week out.
I am not a bandwagon guy so I still support them when thier not playing Matt and the boys.
I find it OK to be a fan of another team.
Who is your "second favorite team "?

Nice post, TLider.
As a kid, I loved Steve Grogan's Patriots with Stanley Morgan, Harold Jackson, and Sam Bam Cunningham. Oh, and the old NE Minuteman helmet. I liked Brian Sipe and Sam Rutigliano's Browns teams too (I still remember that Mike Davis endzone interception in the snow in the AFC championship game). And Ken Anderson's Cincinnati Bengal teams. I almost forgot to toss a bone to Air Coryell, with Fouts, Jefferson, Muncie, Winslow and Big Louie Kelcher and Fred Dean on defense.
But I guess the team I've liked over the years besides the Seahawks has been Green Bay - ever since the days of Eddie Lee Ivery and long before Brett Favre and Reggie White made them a great team. Maybe its just that NFL films line......"On the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field......"

I'd have to say Washington, only because my wife and her family are huge Red Skin fans.. man it's been a great couple of years against the Skins.. But if there's another team I fallow it's the Skins and only for that reason.
FYI I passed Quest field Sunday heading to the ball Park to watch the M's. That was the best part of the day...
Seahawks!!!

I thought on this one a bit and I kept coming back to the 85 Bears. That was my formative incoctrination into becoming a "football" fan, not just a Seahawk fan. Arguably the greatest D of all time. The Fridge. Ditka. Mike "I like this kinda party!" Singletary. And off course Matt Suey lead blockin' for Sweetness.

I have to agree with that. The '85 Bears was the first team that got me thinking about football in terms other then I like the Seahawks because they have cool uniforms.
I liked the Patriots when they first changed over to the new look , and I liked the Colts when they first drafted Edge (mostly because that was the 1st year I did fantasy football, and I had Payton and Edge on my team, and I won it all that season). Sadly it became way to trendy to like those teams, so I stopped and just stuck with my Seahawks.
Now a days, my 2nd favorite team(s) are whoever is playing the 49er, Rams, Cards, Chief, Broncos or Raiders. I still have those left over AFC West feelings. For some reason the Chargers never bothered me. I think it was because through most of the 90's they were a doormat.

'Lov Ya Blue'... Dan Pastorini, Earl Cambell, Bum Phillips. Man, what a great team. The championship game in the rain at Pittsburgh... that yellow mark on Pastorini's jersey. Houston was much like the Seahawks today... almost the best.
I also liked GB... they have always had they mystique. I live in Charlotte now, so I do love my Panthers... albeit a game here is likened to a wine tasting.

Theres a couple teams I like to see do well. The Colts, Buccaneers, But as far as watching a game when the Hawks aren't going, cant say I really care who's playing I'll watch it. I root for almost any team if their victory assists us in some way.
Teams I'll never like, and rue when I have to root for them are The Rams, Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, Broncos
Boy the list of hates was easier.
The Raiders who were once on that list now are an enigma to me. I hated them ravenously for an eternity. But now... now... strangely enough.. I think..... I think, I miss them.
Nah, probably just a compassionate moment, Because they suck so badly!!! That or indigestion. Boo hoo, poor little waider nation.. Sorry.... I digress.

I have teams that Ill watch because of certain players, I like the Patriots and Colts because its great to watch Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, the Ravens DEF is always great to watch, Ill watch the Jaguars to see Maurice Jones-Drew, the Titans used to be a favorite with Jevon Kearse, Eddie George, and Steve McNair. I loved the old Bills teams because of Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly and Thruman Thomas. I used to like the Steelers because of the DEF they play but that fell off after the superbowl but I still respect them.
My other favorite team though would be the Packers since I used to have to have a team to watch when the Seahawks couldnt make it in the playoffs. Ill have to see though if Im a Brett Favre fan or a Packer fan.

second favorite team has to be the Seahawks i like the atmosphere up here in the northwest and have felt hte hawks are a good tight end away from winning a super bowl and if you look at west coast offence teams that have won it they have had great recieving tight ends. plus i can go down the street to watch the hawks play. since i moved up to seattle i have supported the hawks and mariners. those 2 teams always had a appeal to me and i will support them for years to come.

Second favorite is, and always will be, the Pittsburgh Steelers. I was a kid in the '70's, which pretty much made me either a Steelers or a Cowboys fan, and I hate the freakin' Cowboys. America's Team my ass.
In October 2005, I made a flippant comment to a Steeler fan friend of mine that "If the Seahawks were ever to lose a Super Bowl, I would hope it would be against the Steelers." Now I wake up screaming in the middle of the night, "I WAS ONLY KIDDING!!!"
Seriously, I like the way the Steelers run their organization, I love the way they play the game, and I think they have a very saavy, very loyal fan base.

I seem to like Peyton Manning and the Colts. Like his commercials. I can just imagine what the Mannings do when they get together for a family reunion. I guess their dad is always picked on because he never got the ring.
