gators73.......there is not the same outcry re other groups who you mentioned because they are not 1. illegal 2. uneducated 3. illegal 4. requiring assistance from our gov. 5. illegal. You mentioned doctors, motel owners, grad students as examples so my question is HOW MANY MEXICAN ILLEGALS ARE DOCTORS, MOTEL OWNERS, GRAD STUDENTS"????????????????????????????
It is impossible to have a discussion with someone who compares apples to jet planes.....your own examples should cause you to realize for the most part your apples are not apples!
However your post re taking "pimps, hos, gangstas and assorted negatives in our country and deporting them is at last a very logical statement.......I know one thing for certain and that is MEXICO WOULD NOT ACCEPT THEM.....MEXICO IS INTENT ON SENDING US THEIR MOST UNEDUCATED, DISEASED, CRIMINAL, ETC.
YOU FAIL TO COMPREHEND IT IS NOT THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN - IT IS THAT A COUNTRY THAT WENT TO THE MOON OVER 30 YEARS AGO DOES NOT WANT TO BEGIN ANEW WITH HAVING CITIZENS WHO DO NOT EVEN GET THE CONCEPT OF HAVING TOO MANY CHILDREN = QUANTITY NOT QUALITY!......WE CANNOT AFFORD THEIR DISEASES EITHER............IT AMAZES ME THAT YOU DO NOT MOVE TO MEXICO AND SPEND YOUR TIME TRYING TO HELP THEM INSTEAD OF CONTINUING TO TRY TO FORCE US TO ACCEPT THEIR NEGATIVES.
I KNOW YOU PROBABLY MEAN WELL BUT THAT MEANING WELL SHOULD BE FIRST AND FOREMOST FOR THIS COUNTRY.........ONE WOULD THINK!

Of course there are no illegal med students or hotel owners! They'd have to learn how to speak English, Latin, AND American business practices to survive. Ever wonder why the only Latinos you see working in a hotel are either in the kitchen or folding sheets?
Please, gators, you call us americans lazy. Yes there are some, but for the most part we are just as willing as the mexicans to find work. We understand the meaning of supply and demand. WE are suppling the labor and the skill. Shouldn't we get paid what's it's worth to survive in this nation? Cleaning toilets and grilling burgers should be done by our high school students and younger adults, so they can get their feet into the working world. Frying fries should not be a CAREER move! Only the truly lazy, like the mexicans at my mcdonald's down the road, would think so. Laziness could also be used to describe a race of people that come and assume a countries rights and benefits, but won't even learn our language or fill out some documents LEGALLY as to gain those perks rightfully.
Why SHOULD we take them on? Why is it that America has to be concerned with every nation's GD problems? Are the Mexicans helping with the War on Terror? No. Are they supplying us with anything but more mouths to feed? No. Are they helping the World in ANY way? No. We already fund the country with huge sums of OUR money, but all they do is piss it down their legs. The place in a S*** hole and nature should be allowed to run it's course and let them starve or be killed off by disease. God knows it would help the population control. I know, I'm evil again, but who cares. Nature really doesn't care when it comes to evolution and that is what's going on here. Their country has made to many BAD choices over the past few centuries, now they have to pay for it. It's not our problem. Our problem is that our country is slowly being taken down by these parasites. It's time to see the doctor I call Uncle Sam, and have him give this nation a prescription for two testicles and tell us to man up and take back what's ours: The language, the jobs, and the F***ing COUNTRY!

SF-jaxfan!.....so much truth, ie truths....but as in that movie with Tom C and Jack N "A Few Good Men" too many people "cannot handle the truth!"
And telling the truth is far from evil......in fact the opposite is true - telling lies and/or turning away from the truth is evil....because it results in horrible problems, ie the illegal invasion and our own citizens refusing to accept the truth......even some of those of their own culture who are legal citizens refuse to consider America first.....and when America is ruined then where will they invade next!.....the invasion reminds me of army ants - they invade and use everything in their path and keep on invading new areas and ruin and so the invasion continues on and on and on and on and on.
The illegals do not care about this country except for what it can give them!......FACE THE REALITY! Face the truth!

Government spending produces prosperity? I don't know what flaky economics text that came from. gators - you're either having trouble reading/understanding, or (more likely) purposefully feigning to be obtuse on the subject. In any case, debating economics with you has proved to be an effort yielding a diminishing return.
But there are two things from your last post I do want to respond to:
You see, in fact I don't. I just don't see the outrage for any other ethnicity, race, or national origin that I see against Mexicans. That raises the obvious question as to the motivation of those who have an instinctive, spasmodic reaction to people who speak Spanish, and who come here to work. Pakistani doctors, motel owners, Indian grad students who overstay their visas and bring in relatives to work in their businesses just don't get the same level of invective. It's a legitimate question.Do we share a border with Pakistan, and are there 15 to 20 million Pakistanis in this country illegally? If you're still confused about this, this data from the Congressional Research Division of the Library of Congress (as reported to Congress) might help:
People apprehended by the Border Patrol for trying to cross into the US illegally in 2005:
- Mexicans: 1,078,800
- Pakistanis: 91
For someone who states the he cares nothing about skin-tone or accents, you sure seem to go "there" quickly, all the while ignoring what is pretty obvious reality.
D_D posted: Why is it an "accident" when an American citizen is born to an American citizen? What an odd statement...
gators73 posted: Did they earn it? Are they more deserving to benefit from living here?I find this completely amazing. Are you really asking whether the sons and daughters of American citizens are more deserving of living in the US than sons/daughters of citizens from other countries?
Since when do children have to "earn" the right to live where their parents live?
Explain why American parents (and grandparents, and great-grandparents) don't have the right to leave to their children the country they work(ed) so hard to build/maintain.
I can't believe this is even something that needs to be debated.

Simple fact is, we allow far more Pakis into the country legally, hence no need for them to come illegally. You know, it is harder to get here illegally on an airplane- I am shocked I have to explain that. We have a larger demand for Mexican labor. The Pakistanis are here for a different reason, like the students who come here in droves, then over stay their visas. Once they establish businesses, they bring in relatives to work (legally) in family owned businesses. Since they are sponsored and have a job to come to, that's presumably O.K. However, nobody seems to care if they fail to renew their visas and stay, sometimes moving on to other work.
Pakistanis are a different skin tone from Mexicans? LOL I don't really care what the skin tone is, why should I? The main points I made with regards to Mexican immigrants was that they speak Spanish and had a different culture- it had nothing to do with skin tone. You may not be aware, but most Hispanics are of mixed race, or mestizos- mixed race. It really makes no difference. Usually, the bigotry is aimed at the language and culture by the English- only lemmings. The presumption is that Hispanics don't want to learn English. That's nuts. They know that knowing English enhances their employability and makes their lives easier. I know hundreds of working adults personally who attend ESL English classes after working one, sometimes two jobs.
When debating whether the law reflects the best interests of the U.S., it is quite appropriate to discuss the relative merits of who is affected by policy. Opponents of the guest worker program constantly bring up how Mexican immigrants steal jobs from home grown unemployed. No matter how often this canard is debunked, it still keeps appearing. What part of full employment is incomprehensible to you guys? People who aren't working now, probably never have. Either that, or they are the chronic bad- backers, who live on Workmen's Comp, ADC/or/Welfare. We subsidize their indolence with our tax dollars. Why shouldn't we bring in legal guest workers to do work that: a.They can't do b. Won't do c. Don't have the skills to do d. Won't use federal aid to get job training to do. If we apparently can export the chronically lazy, why can't we import workers to do what they refuse to do- since the beginning of the Great Society in the 60s?
Not all of us Americans are lazy, but we sure have grown a crop of bums among us. If the predecessors of these guys really did contribute so much to building this country, they are undoutedly ashamed and rolling in their graves now.

Simple fact is that throughout this exchange, you have proven to actually know very little about what you're attempting to discuss. Time and time again you've shared "simple facts" that have been incorrect. The real fact in this case is that there isn't another country in the world that comes close to Mexico's numbers where legal immigration into the US is concerned:
- Legal immigrants from Mexico in 2007: 147,640
- Legal immigrants from Pakistan in 2007: 13,497
How many times do you have to be shown to be wrong before it finally hits you - "gee, maybe I really don't know very much about what I have such strong opinions on." And it's not like you're just a little wrong - you're an order of magnitude wrong.
Here's the post from you (that I responded to) where you suggest that it's bigotry behind all the angst about illegal immigrants from Mexico:
You see, in fact I don't. I just don't see the outrage for any other ethnicity, race, or national origin that I see against Mexicans. That raises the obvious question as to the motivation of those who have an instinctive, spasmodic reaction to people who speak Spanish, and who come here to work. Pakistani doctors, motel owners, Indian grad students who overstay their visas and bring in relatives to work in their businesses just don't get the same level of invective.
So I made the (what should be obvious) point that the reason you don't see the "level of invective" over illegal Pakistanis that you do Mexicans is because the number of Pakistani illegals in this country is dwarfed by the number of Mexicans. You responded with:
You know, it is harder to get here illegally on an airplane- I am shocked I have to explain that.
What does that have to do with your original point? What does that have to do with how I responded to your original point?
When an otherwise intelligent person goes incoherent, makes up opposing points to argue against or forgets his own arguments - It becomes apparent he's operating on "opinion" rather than facts, logic and principles.
Pakistanis are a different skin tone from Mexicans? LOL I don't really care what the skin tone is, why should I? The main points I made with regards to Mexican immigrants was that they speak Spanish and had a different culture- it had nothing to do with skin tone.
You don't know what you're arguing - it changes regularly because it's not based on principle. You state over and over again that skin-tone/accents don't mean anything to you, but that's all you see others reacting to. Why is that?
You need to imagine that Americans share a culture with Pakistanis, while Mexicans are somehow "outcasts" from our society. This makes no sense. What percentage of America is of Mexcican descent? What percentage Pakistani? What percentage of America is Catholic? What percentage is Muslim? America and Mexico do not share a common culture, but they're lightyears more alike than America and Pakistan's.
Opponents of the guest worker program constantly bring up how Mexican immigrants steal jobs from home grown unemployed. No matter how often this canard is debunked, it still keeps appearing. What part of full employment is incomprehensible to you guys?
- You have proven to know little about economics, and so you can claim "full employment" all you want, but until you address the holes in that argument beyond - "unskilled American workers lack skills" you can't be taken seriously on this.
- Who is an opponent of a guest worker program? Again - this is an example of you making up someone else's position to make a counterpoint. I am 100% for a guest worker program that is administered
