I think the Jets make 9-11 wins next year and heres why.

Running Game-They have Jones and they really fixed up the O-line so I am expecting Jones gets more yards and less of a quiet year. Last year was a good year to understand us because this year I want us to be serious.

Receiving Game-When people hear the Jets they probably think Chad, that is fine. I want him to have just one more season and get rid of him, because we have a new Chad named Eric Ainge, but our WR will be good if Coles and Cotchery stay healthy.

Defense-I know that Pace and Gholston are going to be great in this 3-4 and then we have Jenkins. We know we have some run stopping DL, and then when third down comes, Gholston jets to the QB and gets his ass on the ground.

Kick Returning-They got what it takes to score 3-4 KR touchdowns.

Knock Brady down and out.

When Ricky Williams tries to start on a new leaf he ends up smoking it.

Bills suck, wait you guys are actually a team? I thought u were a group of people watching us. Ohh !

I think we end up at 9-7 or 10-6, and that will include some really decent wins that shows what this team is really capable of. Of course there will also be some head shaking losses that show us that this team isnt quite there yet.

If our offense gets on track early, and can move the chains while keeping our defense on the bench we will have something. Our defense by all accounts should be pretty damn good, but if they are always out there on the field because our offense cant sustain drives then we will have to hope that our D can produce 3 and outs like clockwork. Conditioning will play a huge part. Id rather see the offense carrying the brunt of the load this year, so our D can be in a position to be aggressive more often than not. Thats what this D will be geared for, the KO punch. (I hope)

11-5 yeah thats right i said it there is no reason we shouldnt have that record look at the sched heres y

our def will be alot better with gholston and the fa's

running game will be off the chart t jones will rip it up plus callahan is a genius

if clemens starts we will be good

if chad starts we wont that simple

we need the long ball which clemens gives us our offense is too predictable all we do is throw short passes everone has figured us out but with kellen we can strech the field and pose problems he gives us the best chance to win who cares about winning now its not like we r going to win a superbowl next year anyway just give the team to kellen and who knows in 3-5 years maybe a sb appearence

I'll do it week by week:

1- @ Miami- Even with Tuna at the helm, they're still very far away from being competitive. W.

2- NE- Don't kill me for this, but I think that this early in the season the Jets won't be completely meshed as a unit on both sides of the ball to beat the Pats. L.

3- @ San Diego- SD is very, very talented and hard to beat at home. L.

4- Arizona- A team similar to the Jets in that they are on the cusp of becoming a legitimate playoff caliber team. W.

5- BYE

6- Cincinnati- This team is in shambles. Even if Chad Johnson plays, I still think they're too disorganized. W.

7- @ Oakland- Both teams made big money moves in the offseason, but I feel that the Jets acquired proven talent and the Raiders were more speculative. Jets would also love to stick it to Al Davis for taking McFadden. W.

8- Kansas City- After the last game of the season last year, they better win this one. But KC is in rebuilding mode and is probably too young to beat a veteran club. W.

9- @ Buffalo- Always one of the toughest 3 games the Jets have to play, but I think this year the Jets come away with a win. W.

10- St. Louis- If healthy, could be a trap game, but that's a BIG if. W.

11- @ NE- Don't think the Jets get a win against the Pats this year, as much as it pains me to say it, especially on a short week (Thursday night game). L.

12- @ Tennessee- Despite the fact we play them every year, these teams were getting chippy last year. Should be an old school smash-mouth game, but I think the Titan's offense is too lacking of playmakers. W.

13- Denver- Jets never have good luck against the Broncos, I think the Broncos will win an ugly one and it wouldn't be a Jets season without a "what the f*** just happened" game. L.

14- @ San Francisco- Bad team, bad coaches, bad management. Better be a win. W.

15- Buffalo- Late-season letdown game, teams match up evenly so it makes sense they'd split the season. L.

16- @ Seattle- Hardest place to play in the NFL. Very good defense, and improved offense after replacing Alexander. L.

17- Miami- Jets keep the winning streak against the doormats going. W.

I didn't keep track of the record until I finished the week-by-week analysis so it wouldn't influence the predictions. 10-6 this season seems like a reasonable, attainable record. I would have to say anything less than 9 wins would be disappointing to some degree, but an 8-8 season wouldn't kill me if the Jets showed significant improvement.

I'm thinking 9-7 to be realistically optimistic, which may or may not get us a wildcard spot (this is assuming the $@$@ Pats win the division at 10-6 or 11-5 - just from simple inertia). I really like the freek_whc week-by-week idea, so I'll go with that as well.

1 - @Miami: agree, don't see the 'Fins improving that fast even with Tuna. Win 24-13

2 - NE: hoping for a season split with the hated rival and I like the Jets chances better at home- more opportunity to surprise teams early with the new D. Win 20-17

3 - @SD: this isn't a playoff game, so the **cough** Chargers can and should probably pull it off. Loss 24-16.

4 - AZ: Cardinals are perennial under-achievers, don't see them winning this tough road game. Revis will stick on Fitz and since Kurt Warner is their best QB, there'll be a few sacks and a couple of forced fumbles. Win 27-21

5 - Bye

6 - Cin: another annual under-achiever, but they pull-off a road upset due to Palmer's last-minute heroics. Loss 34-28

7 - @Oak: Raiders have really sucked the last couple of years but start to get it together. This will be a wake-up call game. Loss 24-20.

8 - KC: Chiefs aren't the offensive powerhouse they used to be and the Jets can handle them at home. Win 27-17

9 - @Buf: close game against an evenly-matched divisional rival. Loss 21-17

10 - StL: Rams will be much better offensively, but their D won't. Win 30-24

11 - @NE: it's going to be a long season for the Pats but they'll probably at least split the series at home. Loss 27-18

12 - @Ten: this will be a tough road loss against a lesser-talented team. wake-up call #2 as the Jets will really pull it together down the stretch after this disappointing game (shades of 02 and 06?) Loss 21-17

13 - Den: there were some holes in the Bronco's game last. Cutler is good young QB, but will make some mistakes as the Jets defense dominates the game. Win 20-10

14 - @SF: the 49ers will have a Lions-like offensive resurgence with Mike Martz, who will maximize the available talent. This won't always translate to wins though. Win 23-19

15 - Buf: Jets play much better in round 2 to split the season series. Win 30-18

16 - @Sea: in a test of true grit, the Jets go into "12th Man" territory (I live here, hoping to go to the game) and pull a road upset when the Seahawks new kicker blows the GW field goal attempt. Win 23-21

17 - Mia: this could be a big game. Tuna's system will be in place and at it's peak. The Jets probably secure a playoff spot with a 10th victory win here. But the 'Fins are obstinantly playing spoiler after stinking up the league last yea. They beat the Jets. Loss 20-17

Postseason: Jets secure a wildcard spot but lose on the road to the Colts 29-20 in the wildcard round.

I will do a week by week analysis

Miami Dolphins-Their best player is a RB who was inujured all season and a rookie. I think we got the W in this one. W 31-17

New England Patriots-They are overall stacked. The Jets will try their best to win this game but will lose it in the 3rd quarter. L 28-13

San Diego Chargers-They have a tough team to play. LT will barely pull off 100, Cromartie gets one pick for us to lose the game. L 27-21

Arizona Cardinal-Good team, great WR's. Unfortunately their defense and OL are terrible. W 24-14

Bye Week

Cincinatti Bengals-Last year we had a bye week and beat the 2nd best team in the league. I have a feeling that because it is only the Bengals we have the edge. W 28-17

Oakland Raiders-A team with a worse record than ours and the only benefits they got were Javon Walker and Darren McFadden. They lost Jerry Porter which is bad. W 17-10

Kansas City Chiefs-they are rebuilding team and they know it, they can not win this one no matter how hard they tried. W 27-14

@Buffalo-How do we beat Buffalo at their home? Its a question with no answer.L31-10

St Louis Rams-Good offense they got C long. This is the game where nobody would ever figure out what happened. L 21-10

New England Patriots-The Patriots last lost at their home was to the NYJ. That does not change much. L 31-7

We are 10 games through the season at the record of 5-5

Tennessee Titans-We play them like every season last year we did terrible and still almost beat them. They should not be much better. The year before we won with 4 Int. W 24-17

Denver Broncos-I have a feeling we will finally have our first blowout of the year. L 28-0

San Francisco 49ers- THey stink overall, expect an easier win. W 21-3

Buffalo Bills to even up the series and at our house doing this to Buffalo will not be as hard as it looks. W 21-17

Seattle Seahawks-if L we have no chance for playoffs. The Seahawks have already clinched the division. We win miraculously with a last minute Mike Nugent field goal. W 26-24

Miami Dolphins-We start and finish against them. There is a team begging for us to lose to give them a shot, but we come out with the 10 point win. 24-14

We get 5th seed in the playoffs.  the order goes

1.Patriots 2. Chargers 3. Colts 4. Ravens 5. Jets 6. Jaguars

We play the Ravens, going in to the fourth quarter we are trailing by 10. We get an early field goal, pick them off, then get a TD, with 3 minutes we get the ball back where we throw the ball 40 yards down to Coles. We kick the field goal 43 yards for the win. W 27-24

We play the Patriots, we get blown out. L 35-14
