First of all take out the steroid guys from the conversation because they would be in the HOF if they didn't get caught cheating. And if they didn't cheat they never would've done that in the first place

You listed two players who accomplished the feat, one is Jeff Bagwell. He should get into the HOF but is not eligible yet. The other was Albert Belle ...

Besides his incredible off the field issues, he only played 10 full seasons and played his last season at 33 years old due to injury. He was well onto the HOF before retiring and had he not been such a jerk he probably would be there already. He was a HOF caliber player

But if Fielder put up the numbers Belle did over the next 10 seasons he would be at 453 HRs and 1409 RBIs at the age of 33. Players rarely retire at that young of an age barring career ending injuries so it would be highly unlikely that he doesn't hit an additional 47 home runs or an additional 191 RBIs over the course of the rest of his career. Doing so would put him at 500 home runs and 1600 RBIs. There is no non-steroid user in the history of the MLB who is eligible for the Hall of Fame that has 500 home runs and isn't in the HOF, also all 23 retired players who have at least 1600 RBIs are in the HOF

Obviously I am not saying Prince is a sure fire HOFer by any means. There are unforeseeables such as sudden retirement, careeer ending injuries, or career plaguing injuries that would keep his overall career numbers below that of the HOF level

If Prince continues to put those kind of numbers up, there's no way he buys out any of his free agent years, meaning there's a bidding war for his services in 2011 when he's 27...which Milwaukee's going to lose.    Not that he hates Milwaukee...but if you're offered $10-12 million/year (which Milwaukee can probably afford) or $15-20 million/year (which some other team will offer him), where would you play?  This is my main concern with Fielder.

That's legitimate. Fielder is probably going to get a $200+ million dollar contract, obviously something a market like Milwaukee cannot afford

But if you're going to trade him why not wait until the his final year where we at least get more out of him and we can get more? We got Coco Cordero for Carlos Lee that way, we can get another Cordero caliber player in a few years. until then let's pay the man his $10M per year arbitration will give him and get the most out of him while he is here

By the way he's 2-4 as I type this and up to .268. In both games combined he's 4-8 with three doubles. Is this the end of the slump? That'd be a huge lift for us. The game's not on TV here but they scored 6 runs in the last two innings after being down 0-5 so they now lead 6-5. Split this doubleheader and at least not leave with a sweep

If Gagné can get a save in Boston that could do a ton for his confidence

If Gagné can get a save in Boston that could do a ton for his confidence I'd rather have Milwaukee air out the Boston bullpen and not see Gagne in a save situation in Boston.

Let's just get rid of Prince Fielder and replace him with Prince the singer/whatever he is. I saw him on Chappelles' show and let me tell you, he is quite an athlete.

GAME, BLOUSES!
