Jazz have best home record in NBA and are likely to win Game 6. Perhaps the Lakers would be better off to rest Kobe, take their lumps in Game 6 and have a strong, rested Kobe for Game 7.

Please wiegh in.

No way. Kobe was worse in Game 4 than he will be tonight and the Lakers were a sh*tty FT% away from winning that game. Kobe won't be 100% tonight, but will be effective and the Lakers will close out this series in 6.

Wednesday Kobe said his back should be fine by Friday (today). There is no way we should sit Kobe to save him for game 7. What we should do is finish it in 6. Noriega is right about the free throws. We missedd 10 free throws in the first half. If we make just one of those then we win in regulation and the series would be over by now. No team wants to go 7 games unless they have already lost 3. Game 7 gives them hope, we need to finish them off while their backs are up against the ropes. If we were going to rest Kobe, we would have done it in game 5.

That just can't happen,  Game 4 we had a 50% KB, no Turiaf and a huge FT discrepancy because Kobe had trouble defending and the game still went to OT. Lakers need to try and finish them off, give Kobe 5 straight days to rest his back and come back stronger in th Conference finals.

Knowing Kobe isn't 100% from the start helped push his teammates to play even harder than they had. Why not try that scenario one more time. Remember, the Lakers had to beat the Jazz on the road be the 1 seed. Its not impossible.

What are we going to rest him for - the off-season?

Interesting idea...but no.

Rest Kobe...in the playoffs?

That's like suggesting that the earth take a day off from spinning on its axis:
a. not going to happen, and b. may produce catastrophic results.

Nope .... unless the impossible happens and the Lakers are up by 30 with 7 to go in the 4th in Utah.  Bottom line the only way to truly rest Kobe is for the Lakers to win at Utah since the Hornets & Spurs are going 7

I agree with everybody.  Theres no chance that Kobe sits....if he sits and something major happens (like an injury, ejection...) and he still is not 100% for game 7..what is the point?  I have an injured back myself and it has bothered me for the last 2 years.  Back problems, no matter how small dont go away in a few dayz.  Anyway, we wrap it up 2nite and get rest, and its SHOWTIME 4 the next round!!!!!!
