Last two games:
ERA IP H R BB K
May 05 @COL 1.80 5.0 2 1 4 4
May 10 BUF 3.00 6.0 5 2 2 5
I was really hoping he'd calm down a bit. Now, I'm not suggesting he get called up before the All-Star Break, but it's nice to see him throwing better. The four walks are alarming on May 5, but only two on May 10 look better. Personally, I'm looking forward to a few dominant starts before they even think of moving him to the Bigs.

I agree 100%. Let him stay down there for 2 more months. Let him get several more starts so he can learn to deal with getting thumped, and getting out of jams. If he rips off 5 or 6 straight dominant starts in the minors, good, just don't rush him back.

Will do, Riley... just so everyone knows, you can listen to minor league games for free on minorleaguebaseball.com. That's where I get the stats.

I agree 100% Liriano does need a couple of more postive starts before getting called he also needs to work on his pitch control.

Liriano pitched last night and went 8 innings with just one walk! Things are certainly looking better. Here's the entire stat line:
8 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 3 ER, 4K
He wasn't dominant - which is what I'm looking for - but he pitched deep into a game with only one walk. It's a good sign.

I think the only way Liriano comes back this year would be in the last month of season if we are in a chase for the playoffs. Otherwise, he probably will remain down until next season.

Happy Liriano Day!
He pitched earlier today and here was his line...
7 IP, 8 H, 1 BB, 2 ER, 3K.
He went deep into the game once again, but the amount of baserunners and lack of Ks is still a bit confounding. He simply isn't fooling anyone right now. One has to wonder what kind of pitches he is throwing down there.
No game recap yet, so no quotes or anything. Hopefully he's coming around. I'm just dreaming of that 7 IP/10K shutout to let us know he's ready to come back.

Oh Snap... Liriano got rocked on May 26!
6.2 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 6 ER, 4K.
I guess we can be glad he only walked one batter, but six earned runs is certainly a setback.
He got bounced around in the fifth inning when he had two outs and NO ONE on base... then gave up a grand slam and a four-run lead. Too bad.
