Tonight, the Mets and Yankees will kick off the annual Subway series first beginning in Yankee Stadium. My personal pick would be the Yankees take 2 of 3, only losing tomorrow night.

Game 1 - Johan Santana vs. Darrell Rasner

Santana should win this one unless Rasner pitches the game of his life. Johan was giving that money to win big games like this one, in order to show up Hank. If he doesn't win, he should give back the game pay. j/k. But, seriously Santana is great against the Yankees, hoepfully the bats for the Bombers click soon.

Game 2  - Oliver Perez vs. Andy Pettite

We saw this battle last year in Shea when Perez went 2-0 against the Yankees last year, but this year is an inconsistent Perez who has been rocky lately. Pettite, other than Monday night has been pretty much consistent for the Yanks. Expect the bats to come back against Oliver in this one. Yankees win !!!

Game 3 - John Maine vs. Chien Ming-Wang

This will be a guaranteed pitcher's duel. Maine has won his last 4 starts after a loss by the Mets a day later. But, the Yanks when Wang pitches have the deadly trio.

Wang - Joba - Rivera = Yankees Win

I'd have to say that this is an optimistic assessment. I would love for it to come true, but all your of your outlook will go out the window if the offense doesn't reverse the course they are currently on. Wang can pitch great, but don't you remember what happened when we couldn't score runs for him? Even a great pitcher, can only win if the offense scores more runs than he gives up.

Time for the bats to step up. They're actually past due, and we should collect interest on it too.
