Nice breakdown of your team Champboy. I'm still waiting for Grass who wanted to talk.

In the division denver is still 2nd. higher then oakland because of coaching which is most important, a more stable o-line in terms of pass protection, better players in the trenches and of course qb play. jamarcus is unknown and he will struggle starting his first full season. mclown has his good games and his horrible games. okaland will be better than kc probably but both teams seasons ride on their young qb's as denvers still does too.

I have to call BullS*it on this. I'll give you the Cutler over Russell but not by much. Russell will step right in just like Cutler did. Russell got to play a handfull of games and learn with out getting beat up. He is big, strong and has a solid grasp for the game. He will step up.  After that I don't see you logic. You said better coaching, how? Kiffin did wonders in 1 year and beat you guys twice (iF not for a lame T.O) last year. We didn't even have a set QB. As you say, Denver is better but so is Oakland. How do you have better players in the trenches? Your run D was as bad as ours. Your line gave up 34 sacks to our 42. We let Sims go and signed Harris and Wade from Tampa. On D we sined Joseph, Edwards and Spires at D/T and D/E.  We have Hall and Wilson with Nnamdi in the secondary to shut down the pass. Who will run the ball for you? We have Bush and McFadden. Denver may be better but so are we. At this point I like what we have done over what Denver has done. Plus, is your top receiver ready to play? hows his arm? Of corse all this depends on health for both teams. It could turn into a long season again.

Way to keep it about 2 guys talking football. This you suck yelling gets old.

I think I would have passed on signing Kalimba Edwards and Greg Spires and gone with Glen Dorsey.  It would have been a bit of a risk not knowing if Dorsey would have been there at four but Greg Ellis would have been anyway.  It seems like The Raiders had a pretty good running game last year despite all of the other problems.

I agree with you that Al Davis is paying guys like he thinks there is a capless year coming up. I don't know where you are getting your numbers on all these contracts being back end loaded though.  I hear the Javon Walker contract is 27M over the first three years.

As for the Broncos.  I am still for Shanahan although I think he needs to give up some of the GM powers.  I don't know of anyone out there that is a better head coach than him.  You also have to remember that he has had something like two losing seasons in his time with Denver.  That is pretty good.  Hard to replace.  One season is not even close to enought to get rid of him.

Broncos have done enough this offseason.  Their biggest problem on defense last year was running a scheme that didn't fit the personel.  We got rid of the D coordinator.  The next step will be to keep the new guy for longer than a year.  We replaced Ian Gold with Boss Bailey which is an upgrade.  Picked up Niko Koutouvides so DJ Williams can move back out where he belongs.  Got some guys to come in when John Lynch breaks down.  We also are getting our first and second round draft picks from last year back.  They both were injured early in the season.  Our D will be better.

As for Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall, they will be fine.  I am way more worried about Marshall's nerve damage than the tiff they had.  We will have to see how that heals up.  If he can't feel the ball, it is really going to hurt the team.

I think the division will be more competitive top to bottom this year.  I think the Chargers will win the division again but they aren't getting better,  the Broncos will win 8 or nine games, the Raiders will win six or seven, and the Chiefs will win five or six.

The Raiders made the biggest moves in FA and the Chiefs had a great draft.  Free agents are on the market for a reason and rookies take a while to get up to NFL speed.  Otherwise I would say the Raider and Chiefs would be better.

Nice job Munch. Well said with no dumb ass remarks. The way you feel about the Broncos is the way we feel about the Raiders. Both should be better. As a Raider fan I still think we will be better. LOL Only time will tell. Opening day on Monday night should be fun.  Nice reply

Good post. i have to see if JaMarcus Russell can play good ball his 1st year starting. Jay Cutler hasn't been phenomenal yet but he did well last year. the passing numbers were better than when plummer was here. the running numbers struggled. part was a banged up o-line other part was injuries to baby daddy henry but Selvin Young did really well. the kid is quick and has some good moves. thats an undrafted rookie too. If they can get better int he red zone, they will be a very good team. i think spires was a good pickup. i haven't seen a lot of him lately but he is a good pass rusher. it hink Elvis Dumervil is a better pass rusher than burgess who is on the decline. as far as line goes denver has some good young defensive ends and tackles they have drafted recently. the browncos are gone except ekuban who was the best of them. shanahan is a better coach then lane. coaching is measured by victories. he did win 4 games last year but i dont think he was the main reason. the defense is more cohesive and rob ryan has done a fine job with the pass defense. i like what he has done on improving the run game too. theres a handful of coaches in the elague who are on shanahans level. with the injuries last year and minimal talent he still grinded out 7 wins. the losses were bad and many of the wins were close but thats were a HC comes in. if you are losing close games, you have bad coaching. The O-line for denver is better as well. they allowed less sacks and had better pass protection. oaklands offense consisted of running, playaction and quick passes due to the o-lines inability to give the quarterback time. Doctors are saying Brandon Marshall may be ready come camp. we will see. he jacked his arm up i guess. if him darrel jackson, Brandon Stokley, Keary Colbert, Eddie Royal, Tony Scheffler and Daniel Graham have a good offseason with cutler, the pass game will be better as well. Travis Henry and selvin young could be a good punch if henry satys healthy. prior to last year henry had been very productive.
