Guilty as charged.
I love the game, that is why I was compelled to write an email to Senator Arlen Specter to call for an official investigation, and review of the NFL's antitrust.
I am as dissatified as any fan of football should be at the token investigation that the NFL conducted.
I am as dissatisfied at the token punishment the NFL levied against the Patriots for cheating as any fan of football should be.
We all spend hours typing posts here, many agree with me, many do not.
I believe for me to come here and spew my venom about this without doing something, 15 seconds of my time, it would make me just as low and shameful as Robert Kraft, Bill Belichick, the Patriots players and fans are.
That is why I wrote the following in an email to Senator Arlen Specter:
Senator Spector,
I don't like many of the things for which Congress and the Senate choose to spend my hard earned tax dollar on.
With the state of the world today, rising prices, and human suffering one of the only departures I have from my daily grind is my love of football.
I respectfully disagree with any stance pitting Comcast and the NFL against each other, this is why I choose Direct TV, and the NFL Sunday ticket.
But as my dollar devalues, and my cost of living increases while minimum wage stays so low that much of the nation lives in poverty, I can think of nothing more I would like to see my tax dollars spent on than the full investigation of just how deep, meaningful and damaging the New England Patriots and Robert Kraft's treachery have caused the NFL by cheating their way to three tainted Championships.
Until they are brought to justice, the Patriots and the NFL for willingly and knowingly covering up how deep this ran, as clearly proven by not interviewing the key figure based on the word of the very people being investigated and said by Commisioner Roger Goodall to have been known by him to be lying. The deliberate destruction of evidence to keep the public, that same public that pays for many of the stadiums where the game is played with those same tax dollars I cannot enjoy the sport America is known worldwide for blind to what actually occurred. The NFL I pay for with dollars already taxed, and taxes I voted for, and still more taxes taken beyond my control pay for.
The sport I love.
I know that without me the fan, the NFL would not enjoy the success they have today. I have voted for every stadium tax because of my love for this game, and for this loyalty the NFL and Robert Kraft's New England Patriots have deceived me that I was paying these hard earned dollars for what is in the end a Fraud.
I believe you to be a man of conviction and integrity. As my voice cannot be heard so loudly as your own, I ask, I implore, I beg that the United States Senate champion this cause, and investigate what my tax dollars have really been used for.
I hope I am not in the minority. I hope that anyone that loves the game of football, or simply believes in truth will reach out for your help in this pursuit. It is a fight against corruption, very much like the historical figures this team taints the memory of by being called the Patriots.
I thank you for your time. I understand that you have many important issues you must weigh, but for me, there is nothing more important then the integrity and reputation of the greatest nation the world will ever know. Unfortunately the greatest team sport the world may ever know also represents the United States and in doing so represent me.
It saddens and sickens me that the greatest game in the world is now viewed as meaningless as the World Wrestling Federation.
Would you please take the time to do what a man with any heart and love for his game, his sport and his country should do when it's people have been mislead and their money misused.
It is time for the National Football League to come clean, play a fair game or simply go away. At the very least be prevented from taxing me to pair for a fixed fight.
Thank you.
I am long winded, but you can do the same in much fewer words by emailing Senator Specter with;
Please investigate the NFL and the New England Patriots on my behalf.
Send to:
http://specter.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=contact.contactform
I love this game to much to let a corrupt Comissioner, and some dirty business men steal from me while creating each years champion not on the field, but in NFL Offices.
Thanks.

If you are truly invested in this issue because you love and respect the sanctity of the game, then you should be pushing Spector to launch an independent investigation of all 32 teams in the NFL.

The NFL didn't lie to me about every team, they tried to cover up the Patriots cheating.
I welcome an investigation, some others may pay, but that everyone is guilty is both myth, and excuse.
Not everyone is as slimey as Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick.
They should revoke the NFL's anti trust and destroy the sport completely if we are hand picking Champions, and allowing frauds to represent our Country.
So you cheat and condone cheating too....don't write, but with hope there are enough people that care about football to do something about it.

I have a life, and I know my rights as an American tax payer.
What's your excuse?
That you are so desperate to compete with New York that you are willing to support a cheater to get there?
Who needs to get a life?

That's not the point though. If it is, truly, the integrity of the league that you feel is at stake in this matter, then ANY possible issues of cheating by ANY NFL team should be of concern to you. I never said that everyone else was guilty. I said that an impartial investigation into league practices and potential cheating should include all entities included in that league in order for the results to actually be legitimate. Would some teams come out squeeky clean? I doubt 100%, but it's possible. Would the Patriots be the ONLY team implicated in a thorough investigation? That one seems less likely.

I love football to. I think there should be more strick rules and laws and whatever else you want to call them. For one it is a privilage to play in the NFL not a right. I think there should be no second chances, you mess up once you never come back to NFL again. For instants Pacman Jones, how many second chances is this guy going to get. Chris Henry, another law abiding citizen that should be gone for good and now Bill Belicheck (however you spell that worthless piece of garbage cheating name) should be gone as well.
There should only be one strike and your done, not 3, 4, 5, 6 strikes. One and done

What we need is a Mitchell Report of all teams spying and taping policies.
Great idea. Let's drag the rest of the NFL down too.
There will never be a single team investigation. It will be over all teams and many people will be implicated. The memo wasn't sent around because just the Patriots were taping. It was a league wide problem.
So let the Witch hunt begin.
