I don't get on the football portion of this site much in the summertime because I don't care what the speculation of who will go where is like, it's all hot air and I don't care what some "Expert" thinks, just show me the rosters on NFL Kickoff Weekend, and I'll make my fantasy picks on what I know about football and win my league again...

As far as the Bengals, I don't get why we get such a bad rep with all these people saying we just ROYALLY suck???  Only 8 teams finished with a better record than us in a very VERY tough AFC... When you consider that 3 of those are the Colts Pats and Chargers, probably the best 3 teams in the NFL anyway, and Pittsburgh is up there mainly because they never really have any major weaknesses,, so we're right in the middle of the pack for all intensive purposes.

I think that a lot of people just get down because it's been SOOOO long since we've been considered "one of the better teams" in the league...  1988 seems like forever ago (i guess it was huh?) and people in Cincinnati think it's far overdue, and with the QB we have, a good line, talented WR's and a Solid RB, we should eventually get things together...  Right???  But if you look at this year's team, with Odell back and a STUD in Rivers coming in, our LB situation should improve DRASTICALLY.  Our D was bad, I know, but we now have Joseph and Hall as 2 highly touted cornerbacks, arguably, both of those CornerBacks were ranked top 2 or 3 available in each draft from last year and the year prior...  They should have developed enough to be very good this year.

We have obvious weak spots at DT, and both safeties, but other than that, I don't see a WHOLE lot of issues.  the Bengals last year, were... (and always will be if we're under Mr. Brown's ownership) very thin and a team that CAN NOT afford many injuries.  Thats the way that Cheap@$$ runs his show, but if we can stay healthy, how do you not look at this roster and realize, we're going to be just fine???  We aren't winning the Super Bowl anytime soon, but we're gonna be competitive... Thats better than we've had in recent years, thats for sure!!!

My view is that Safety is weak.

When most Bengals were hyping Joseph as a great safety, it made me think how bad the Bengals were at this position. The reason they had a lot of interceptions was because most quarterbacks were not scared of them covering the receivers. The better safeties in the league had less INTs because they provided good coverage and QBs would not throw their way.

We have no run support at all. All we have is passing and that obviously doesnt work all the time. other teams can easily prepare for us cause thats all we do how many games did rudi have that was over 100 yards? not many. they have two covering CJ and another covering TJ im happy they picked up more wideouts to help out but we really need a stacked D line to stop running backs and a 2005 secondary. The whole thing with CJ has quieted down which is great for the team. and Lewis well he needs to get the team together or else he should be fired, i think if they do fire lewis they should try and get the offensive coordinator from Dallas. I think Jason Garrett will be a good fit. But we will see after this season. hopefully Lewis wont pull a petrino and leave in the middle of the season.

voted something else----the Owner Stop buying old farts who were great 5 years ago and buy some free agents who are young and are still getting better.

*Shaun Alexander* for instance, Sam Adams, Neil O'Donnel (WTF? seriously what was so aweful about Jeff Blake that we had to keep trying to replace him?), etc. etc.

When you have the worst pass rush in the NFL the D-line has to be the biggest concern.  Also the 21st ranked run defense is a big concern that is the d-line's fault.

The Bengals have enough talent to win against anybody, their biggest problem is that they don't seem like a team that wants to battle as a team.  They need one guy to step up and lead this group to do great things, whether it's a Junior Seau type or a Ray Lewis type, or someone on the team now who's just dying to win no matter what.

Am going to have to say that our running could be suspect this year... I think our D will be young and quick so I'm going to try and stay positive about that but I don't see our run game improving.  We need to be able to control the pace of the game and only averaging 2 yards a run won't do it.  If one of our guys can jump out and step up I could be wrong but Rudi has been going down hill and Perry will just get injured again.  Maybe if we can get Alexander we could set up something interesting in tandem with Rudi and Perry but it's suspect.

I think it's our defensive line...  I have to whole heartedly agree with the post on here where someone said it's all about n
